We are approaching completion of this prestigious residential project in East Sussex, and our team is now focused on delivering the final details to the highest standards.

The project incorporates a carefully selected palette of high-quality materials and modern technologies, including handmade bricks, heritage flint work, energy-efficient windows and air source heat pumps, combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary performance.

A huge well done to the entire Cheesmur project team for their continued hard work, commitment and attention to detail throughout the build, all of which directly contributed to the project's outstanding quality.

It was an honour to receive not one, but two awards in recognition of our work with local schools and colleges recently.

The first was from South Downs Learning Trust for facilitating multiple workplace visits over the past year, and the second was from East Sussex County Council in recognition of the careers support work we have delivered across the county.

Our Estimating Director, Dan Hayman, heads up this work on behalf of Cheesmur, working closely with local schools and education providers to encourage the next generation to consider a career in construction.

Dan said: "It's always nice to receive recognition, but even better to know we're making a positive difference. Supporting schools, hosting workplace visits and helping young people explore careers in construction is something we're proud to be involved in. Here's to continuing that work and helping more young people discover the opportunities our industry has to offer."

Our office team recently visited one of our active sites in East Sussex to see first‑hand how their work shapes project delivery. From planning and procurement to coordination and communication, their contribution is felt in every stage of construction, and we simply couldn’t do it without them.

Bringing the team on site was a great opportunity to show the real‑world impact of their efforts and to keep everyone closely connected to the projects they help drive forward. It’s this shared understanding and collaboration that ensures our sites run smoothly and our clients receive the consistently high standard of service Cheesmur is known for.

Progress is continuing on our Mews property project in Kemptown, Brighton. Although it still looks like a building site, the side extension is now nearing completion, with new windows and doors being installed next. Internal plastering is also advancing well, paving the way for the next phase of work, including decoration and final finishes.

This project reflects our team's coordinated approach to residential refurbishment, ensuring quality and efficiency through each phase of delivery.

The refurbishment project at Hollington Youth Hub is nearing handover, marking a major milestone for East Sussex County Council and, most importantly, the local community. Our team has been working hard to extend and modernise the much-loved youth hub, giving the Victorian-era building a revitalised future whilst maintaining its original heritage.

We want to give a big thank you to RX Architects for a brilliant and thoughtful design, and to MGAC for their excellent administration and cost consultancy support, a truly successful and collaborative effort from everyone involved.

We’re proud to have completed essential upgrade works to 12 properties at Worthing Homes’ Sackville Road block.

Working in partnership with Lancing Glass, our team installed a new fire-rated curtain walling system to the front elevation, enhancing both safety and energy performance. To the rear, a new AOV smoke vent was introduced to further improve fire safety for residents.

A well-managed scheme delivering meaningful improvements for the homes and those who live in them.

Works are progressing well on our new project at the beautiful Macquarie Quay in sunny Eastbourne.

We are carrying out the removal and replacement of asphalt coverings, cavity tray works along with the installation of new promenade tiles across 11 terraces. We are working closely with local residents throughout the project to minimise disruption and ensure the works are completed as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

A special thank you to Sussex Asphalte Ltd, Futurefabs Ltd, Walls & Millis Brickwork, and Willis Scaffolding for their continued collaboration on this phased programme of works.

Great progress has been made on our luxury residential project in North Sussex this week.

The Cheesmur team and supply chain partners have shown exceptional skill and attention to detail, particularly in the meticulous setting out and stone detailing. The challenge of aligning cuts with bespoke, handmade bricks is being expertly managed on site and it's already looking impressive.

A major structural milestone was achieved this week with the main roof and orangery steelwork now substantially complete following a successful crane-lift operation.

Well done to the entire team for another significant step forward! The project continues to move ahead successfully.
