Just completed in the studio next to the Café, these bespoke voiles in Merchant & Mills Pessimo Indian Cotton bring a soft, natural feel to the space while allowing the daylight to filter beautifully through.

The voiles are hung from black Neo poles on recessed brackets with wrought iron rings, creating a clean, timeless finish. Jones & Company tie-backs complete the look.

✨ A beautiful new café, finished with bespoke curtains by G.F. Sinclair ✨

We’ve recently completed the curtains for a brand-new café, creating a combination of texture, softness and privacy to complement the space.

For the entrance, we made a bespoke door curtain in luxurious velvet corduroy, adding warmth, depth and a welcoming feel as customers arrive.

At the windows, we used a beautiful Indian cotton voile from Merchant & Mills, creating lightweight, elegant voiles that soften the natural light while still allowing the café to feel bright and inviting.

It’s always rewarding to see how the right fabrics can completely transform a commercial space. From selecting the fabrics through to measuring, making and fitting, every detail is carefully considered and finished by our skilled team.

From collapsed and tired to restored and ready for home 🛋️✨

This much-loved Chesterfield sofa came into the G.F. Sinclair workshop with a seat that had seen better days. The springs had collapsed and the seat had been filled with a mixture of old stuffing and foam, leaving it uncomfortable and far from its original shape.

Rather than replacing a sofa the client clearly still loved, we set about restoring it properly — right back to the traditional upholstery.

🔨 The restoration process:

• The old seat materials were removed to expose the underlying structure.
• The seat was fully re-webbed to provide a strong, supportive foundation.
• The original springs were carefully repositioned and secured back into their correct positions.
• The springs were covered with layers of hessian to rebuild the traditional seat construction.
• Ginger fibre stuffing was then added to restore the shape and comfort.
• Further layers of hessian and calico were applied before refitting the original cover.
• The final result? A Chesterfield seat restored to its original shape, character and comfort.

We love projects like this because good furniture deserves a second life. With the right traditional upholstery techniques, a much-loved sofa can often be repaired and restored rather than replaced.
