A dominant performance from BK and into the next round of the cup. A slow start to the game from both sides, but BK soon took control. On the half hour mark a cross from Conor McGuinness found the head of Adam O’Kane whose header rattled the bar but the rebound fell kindly and Adam volleyed home. Cahir O’Kane doubled the lead for BK as he went through one on one and rounded the keeper yet again and tapped into an empty net. BK added their third in 5 minutes when a corner landed nicely at Adam O’Kane’s feet who finished off the crossbar to make it 3. In the 5 minutes before the half Macosquin pulled a goal back, but it wasn’t only a few minutes later that great play from Padraig Morgan released Adam O’Kane down the right who cut the ball back for Jack McGonigle to finish first time into the bottom corner. Halftime 4-1. The second half as a more even affair, not many chances at either end. With just over 10 minutes to go both teams were reduced to 10 men. In the final 10 minutes BK got their fifth when a pinpoint cross from Ronan O’Kane was met at the back post by the head of Ronan Butcher who headed back across the goalkeeper. With 2 minutes left of the 90 Macosquin got their second of the afternoon which proved to be too little too late. Thanks to everyone for your support.
