IMPORTANT NEWS FOR OUR CUSTOMERS 💔

We have some very sad news to share.

Due to new EU legislation affecting certain smoke flavourings, our Hickory Smoked Oil can no longer be produced or placed on the market after 1st July 2026. This decision is completely outside of our control, and we are absolutely gutted as it has been one of our best-selling products for many years. (We had no previous instructions from EHO's, or suppliers advising us that this was coming in). This news will affect so many business, cheese, fish, hams, bbq foods, oils/balsamics, drinks industry.

We know how many of you use and love this oil, whether for BBQs, marinades, roasting, grilling, or adding that wonderful smoky flavour to your favourite dishes.

We currently have a large amount of stock remaining, that we had built up for the summer months and also one of our supermarkets. We were just about to launch a new product with a large deli. 🥹

To help reduce the significant losses we face from remaining stock, labels, ingredients and production costs, we're asking for your support.

Its also Nature Friendly Farming Network week.🌻

Delighted to be in the steering group with and recently volunteer with Cormac and Martin Lines at Balmoral Show. More and more farmers engaged, signed up, and want to know more about what little changes they can make. Promising thoughts.

We are not exhibiting ourselves this year at Balmoral Show, but we are helping on the stand with Nature Friendly Farming Network Wednesday from 12 - 2pm. Its in the Horticulture Area H26. During the week you will meet Cormac and other farmers who are representing and supporting the group.

Seed Oil Debate

We want to say a huge thanks to Paula McIntyre MBE for highlighting the difference in chemically extracted oils verses cold pressed oil. 👍

Its like saying extra virgin olive oil is the same as pomace oil! 🙄

We all need to learn where our food comes from, and who our farmers are who produces it. Not from people who clearly haven't taken the time to know our industry.... we learn from professors, nutrionalists, farmers, people who make and create the products. Its in our business to know the difference in products, not some fireside wannabe lecturer who likes the sound of their own voice, and enjoys getting a like for their click bate to make them a few bob!

This is something I feel very strong about and will pushing and supporting agriculture industry as we don't get half the credit in the country for producing the best food we can here!

Customer Appreciation Post!

Recently, a lovely customer got in touch to tell us about a food-rating app we hadn’t come across before.

Out of curiosity, we took a look… and were surprised to see our products had been incorrectly listed as “refined” and “ultra-processed.”

For clarity, that’s not how our oils are made.

We produce cold-pressed, single seed oils, with a strong focus on quality, sourcing, and transparency at every stage. There’s a big difference between traditionally produced oils and highly refined, industrial ones and unfortunately, not all apps or databases capture that nuance.

After getting in touch and sharing more detailed information, the platform has now updated our ratings to reflect our products more accurately, which we really appreciate.

It’s a helpful reminder that while these apps can be useful, they don’t always have the full picture, especially when it comes to smaller, independent producers.

If you ever see anything about our products that doesn’t look quite right, please feel free to message us directly. We’re always happy to answer questions and provide more information.
