Last instalment of this kitchen project; replacing the blown boxing in with new!

As you can see from the before, the original boxing had become quite damaged from soaking up water from the nearby sink.

Once painted, this will finish off the look and will complete this mini kitchen renovation.

Kitchens take a battering during their life, but some damage doesn’t always warrant a full replacement.

The backs of these base units had taken some damage and lost their shape with everyday wear and tear. Thankfully I was able to save the old backs; recutting and fitting them.

Old panels can’t always be recycled and reused, but I will where I can, making it more cost effective and keeping the look consistent.

After the repair, I installed modern wire basket drawers for a great space saving solution.

When you want to go Supersize, but haven’t got the space….

In order to make their American fridge-freezer dreams come true, I removed the old white goods and cut back the solid wood worktops. Fitting a base end panel to the remaining cupboard, to create a new end.

The top wall units were removed and a wall end panel fitted to finish off the new end run of cabinets. The pelmet was also removed and recut to fit the new set up.

This space is all ready for its new guest.

Quick kitchen refresh!

Called in by the homeowners to install new worktops and replace a cupboard/drawer front.

Managed to find a good quality, similar replacement drawer and door for the missing fronts. This required creating a drawer box that would fit into the old carcass. Both fronts needed cutting to size and being re-edged to sit perfectly in their new home. Once this has been painted to match with handles, it will look like it’s always been there.

Along with the new sink, taps and hob, you’d never believe this kitchen is 20 years old!

Back to the stone cottage for an update.

Following on from the door and frame work in the bedroom and en-suite. I was also asked to install new skirting and boxing in around the toilet pipework, allowing the family to decorate and start using their new extension to this lovely old house.

Asked in to help a family with their beautiful stone cottage after builders left in an ā€œinterestingā€ state of finish.

Desperate for assistance with open door frames, a lot of the existing work needed to be dissembled, reworked and fitted to a proper standard.

The hall side of the frame had been lined with plywood, but not fixed well to the wall, leaving it loose in places and with large gaps down the sides. Re-fixing, re-lining and scribing a return edge to the wall remedied this.

These doors were an expensive option to match the style of the cottage, including the door furniture. So a top quality finish was absolutely necessary.

Really pleased with how they turned out and how they flow with the existing doors and frames to the older part of the house.

Another day another flooring job!

Firstly, apologies for the time it’s taken to post, I’ve been exceptionally busy this last 2 months!

Check out this pretty laminate, which replaces an old hardwood floor that had warped and twisted.

Due to the condition of the old floor, we decided it was beneficial to pop down a hard wearing 4 in 1 quality underlay.

Lots of angles and interesting shapes to create a perfect finish.
