A recent job in Nettleham

I upgraded the consumer unit so the installation is now up to date. Then I installed a bathroom fan and wired up the kitchen chimney extractor🔌

Wireless Switches!

This customer had a kitchen fitted a few years ago and didn’t have any plinth lighting added. So they asked me if it was possible to. The best way that was possible was to use Quinetic system. They have this white remote switch, can use an app or with their Alexa!

We were called out to an ongoing fault this week 💥

The customer told me that the upstairs lighting circuit kept tripping out. After finding the junction box in the loft I noticed a mark on the cable which then upon stripping the cable back it was broken and burnt! 🔥 I can only think it was screwed through or caught years ago when the junction box was installed. Good job I was called!

Here is one of the few rewires that have been done so far this year. 🪛⚡️

The customers had just moved in and was living in the property, so down stairs we used trunking to save the dust and mess until they decorate room by room in the future! We also had 4 outbuildings to run armoured cables to.

Then they want us back to a wire a workshop that is to be built soon!

It was a few months ago I got a call out to a customer with no hot water.

This happens a lot as the immersion heaters are normally a 3.3kw element which is around 13amp depending on the voltage.
Immersion heaters should be on a 20amp double pole isolator with a 16amp breaker protecting the circuit, this one below wasn’t!

Looks fine from front but a different story from behind. An Electrical Installation Condition Report would fine potential hazards like this! 😱 Luckily I found this before anything dangerous happened.

We have been so busy this new year I struggle to remember to keep up with taking pictures to post!

Here’s an EV car charger installed through the Government Grant Scheme! 🚗💸

This was with a 30 metre armoured cable run from the main consumer unit in the house as the detached garage didn’t have the current capacity.

Never assume that if your electrics work mean they are installed correctly!

Today I’ve been to a callout where the lounge spotlights stopped working. The light switch was fine but when I pulled a spotlight to try find the problem all the lights kept flicking on and off. I had to cut a 4 inch hole where the old centre light used to be to access the loose connections (photo 1). I also noticed the spotlights hadn’t been installed correctly as the earth wasn’t connected in all of the fittings.

Here are some before and afters - Whoever installed this in the first place left it very unsafe for this customer!

Have you had your electrical report done on your property?!💥

Here’s a small job I did before Christmas🎄

I previously rewired their house a couple of years ago. Then last year carried out the electrics in their garage conversion and also in their conservatory.

Added two sockets behind the tv, a isolator for the fireplace and a light switch for the niche lights💡💡

Upgrading light fittings to LED at Charlotte house, Lincoln

We had to change 23 round CFL type fitting with some new 600x600 square led panels.

Our price was around 40% cheaper another contractor!
