HAPPENING THURSDAY!!!!!! 5-9pm Apolune — Returning to Home Base

Join us on Thursday 21 May for an evening of contemporary art, drinks and conversation as we celebrate the warmer days together.

Following our recent exhibition in London with MEZZANINE, General Practice brings the show home to Lincoln for a special presentation at our studio space.

Apolune — the point in an orbit farthest from the moon — becomes both title and starting point for a group exhibition exploring distance, return and experimentation through animation, projection, painting, sculpture and mixed media.

Featuring work by Lauren Winter, Nicholas Simpson, Nathan Baxter, Madara Vimba, Andrew Bracey, Rob Britt, Joana Cifre Cerdà and Oliver Ventress.

Apolune — Returning to home base, join us on Thursday 21 May for an evening of contemporary art, drinks, conversation and the chance to celebrate the warmer days together.

Apolune — the point in an orbit farthest from the moon becomes both title and provocation for this group exhibition by members of General Practice. Rooted in ideas of distance, trajectory and return, the exhibition offers a poetic starting point for reflection, experimentation and reorientation.

Following our recent exhibition in London with MEZZANINE , General Practice now brings the show home to Lincoln for a special presentation at our studio space.

The exhibition brings together a range of contemporary and experimental practices including animation, projection, painting, sculpture and mixed media.

Featuring work by Lauren Winter, Nicholas Simpson, Nathan Baxter, Madara Vimba, Andrew Bracey, Rob Britt, Joana Cifre Cerdà and Oliver Ventress, the exhibition reflects a year of shared experimentation, dialogue and exchange within the group.

Apolune

Apolune, the point in a spacecraft’s, satellites or celestial body’s orbit farthest from the moon, becomes

both title and provocation for this group exhibition by members of General Practice. Rooted in ideas of
distance, trajectory and return, it offers a poetic starting point for reflection, experimentation and
reorientation.

Invited by MEZZANINE to present their first General Practice exhibition in London, the group brings
together contemporary and experimental approaches across animation, projection, painting, sculpture and
mixed media.

Featuring work by Lauren Winter, Nicholas Simpson, Nathan Baxter, Madara Vimba,
Andrew Bracey, Rob Britt, Joana Cifre Cerdà and Oliver Ventress, the exhibition reflects a year of
development and playful exchange. What emerges is a constellation of practices that are distinct yet
interconnected.

MEZZANINE is an artist run, non profit space in the Bermondsey Triangle, established in September
2024 as a Community Interest Company. With studios, shared workspaces and a newly renovated gallery,

it supports artists to develop and present diverse creative practices. General Practice extends sincere
thanks for the opportunity to share their evolving work and continue building networks between artist led

spaces regionally and nationally.

What a night.

Friday was something special the room was alive, the energy undeniable. Huge congratulations to everyone who brought the show to life… you absolutely smashed it. And thank you to everyone who showed up, filled the space, and made it what it was.

It’s nights like this that remind you why spaces for experimentation matter places to explore, to play, to take risks, to become something new.

The show continues until 27 February — come experience it while you can.

Animalgamation is a collaborative exhibition exploring the Anthropocene through digital media, extinction, and hybrid creatures. Through sculpture, installation, and video, the artists transform the gallery into a shifting, creature-like environment — a living reflection of humanity’s constant reshaping of the Earth.

Blending eldritch horror, playfulness, and digital aesthetics, the exhibition invites visitors inside an evolving organism built from multiple artistic voices. Individual works intertwine with a large collaborative chimera, merging video, sound, taxidermy, foam, and abstract forms to question environmental damage, hybridity, and extinction.

Open Saturdays, 12–4pm, and by appointment (DM)

Exhibition Title: Reef

We currently have Julie Oxenforth in the General Practice Project Space as our artist in residence. She has been working playfully across the project space and surrounding locations, expanding her existing body of work.

A private view will take place on Friday 6th February, followed by the exhibition opening to the public on Saturday 7th February. Come along for our first show of 2026 warm up, have a drink, meet the artist, and join the conversation.

Working in site-specific installation, Oxenforth seeks to expand and energise each space she inhabits. Using objects and found ephemera, she moves between large-scale gestures and fine details, drawing the viewer into the present moment. Living on the North Sea shore, she is deeply attuned to the power and destruction of nature exploring fragility and resilience, impermanence and erosion.

Ball and Branch – Festive Fun at General Practice

You are all invited to join us for some festive fun as General Practice hosts its annual Christmas frolics: Ball and Branch.

We’ve invited a wonderful range of artists to create and develop work for our Christmas tree, and pieces are still arriving as we speak. We’re embracing the excitement of not knowing exactly how it will all come together, and we’d love you to be part of it.

As always, we’ll also be running the General Practice Secret Santa, which is mysterious as ever so we’ll see how that unfolds on the night.

Come in your best Christmas jumper or outfit. There will be music .3 , drinks, and a few surprises in store. Expect a delightfully chaotic exhibition with party vibes throughout.

Doors open at 6:00pm, and together we’ll unwrap the night as it happens.

Find us at 25 Clasketgate—just ring the doorbell to get in. Wrap up warm, stay as long as you like, and help us celebrate with familiar faces and new ones alike.

We hope to see you there!

Look at the list of artists.
