Earlier this year I had the joy of visiting Hazel, Harriet and Harriet . They gave me the warmest welcome and the best cup of tea I’ve had in London (I wonder if Hazel keeps the Scottish Blend in the back 🤔).
We talked about books and the 100 year old remarkable history of this bookshop, and of course we talked dogs 🐕 ❤️ I hope to meet Toffee the next time I’m there.

I may have been stranded on a Hebridean island for my birthday (gift number 1) but to come home to such thoughtful gifts from friends and family was really special. They know me so well. All from independent shops and encouraging creativity 🥰

Taking a break from painting bookshops today and having the most fun painting their furry friends instead. Meet Juno from , she is a Bedlington Whippet and when not hard at work promoting new releases she can be found snoozing under the counter or playing in the bookshops secret garden. Isn’t she gorgeous ☺️

Thanks to Bookseller Andy for sharing her with me ❤️

The has been a destination bookshop since 2008. Run by husband and wife team, Rosamund and Bill, this fantastic bookshop is based in an old auction house in the Scottish Borders. I visited last year while .robinson.writes was signing books and loved the fun and friendly atmosphere they have created. I can also attest that they make the best scones! Not surprising since they also have their own delicious deli. Famous authors travel for miles and to speak at this special place in the remote village of St Boswells. Bookshop lovers take note, take a bike, take a bus, take your car but definitely take the time to visit ❤️

To celebrate International Woman’s day I’d like to share the work of the woman who inspired me to create. She was my primary school art teacher but I only saw her drawing , etching and painting again once she retired. These are excerpts from her sketchbook that she has no idea I secretly view and photograph every time I visit as I think they are the most beautiful things in the world, not least because it was my Mum that created them

This Waterstones on Sauchiehall Street Glasgow holds a special place for me as it was my local bookshop while studying at the .school.architecture. It was between these two buildings that my love of art and architecture was nurtured from 98-2004. The grand facade complete with stained glass windows used to be the entrance to The spectacular La Scala Cinema opened in 1912. Waterstones took over the building in the 1990’s and it has since then been a beautiful beacon of comfort and warmth to me, on what can sometimes be a wonderfully weird and occasionally wild Sauchiehall St.

A little break from bookshops to paint this motley crue to celebrate 75th birthday!
The first step was to bring all 6 imprints under Transworld’s wings to life through watercolour then combine them into a single artwork for their Christmas card. Ten unique artworks were hand painted, scanned then collaged together to create the Transworld family crest .

The original artworks are displayed in the library/ authors waiting area head office in London.
