A library with scale.

8 metres of considered design, built to feel like it has always been part of the space.

Walnut, brass, and hundreds of precisely mapped components — everything working quietly together. An incredible ladder that moves smoothly, with purpose and elegance. Beautiful cabinetry that frames the room rather than fills it.

This project is less about storage, more about a feeling.

Quiet details. Big ambitions.

Behind this close-up sits one of the largest bookcases we’ve created to date - a truly bespoke installation made up of hundreds of individual components, carefully sourced, crafted and assembled by hand.

From the rich timber ladder to the cabinetry and finishing touches, every element was considered to create a space that feels timeless, warm and lived in. A signature Gopherwood piece that has completely redefined the space for this client - and one whose scale truly has to be seen to be believed.

Every home has a heartbeat waiting to be found.

In a room that was all angles and sharp corners we softened the edges, added warm timber and textures and we carved out a quiet little corner where stories could take root and time could slow just enough to be noticed.

These shelves hold more than books; they hold adventures, secrets, late-night chapters read under a gentle glow.

A circular mirror catches the light - and with it, glimpses of something softer… reflections of a room transformed, and the moments unfolding within it. Cocooned in the walls we crafted a snug made for small shoulders and big daydreams.

A place to land, to read, to disappear into pages far from screens and nearer to imagination.

This wasn’t just about redesigning a room. It was about creating a gentle refuge - somewhere two sisters can feel safe, inspired, and entirely at home.

This hand‑built shelving lines a once‑forgotten seam between house and extension, quietly concealing a door through to the garage. Books gathered for the weekend sit within reach - picked up on the way past, returned just as effortlessly. Movement through the space feels intentional, unhurried.

What was once dead space now has rhythm and reason.

Fitted years ago, it looks much the same today. The lines remain true. The craftsmanship unchanged. Because when something is made by hand, it isn’t chasing novelty - it’s built to last, to live well, to age without apology.

Light slips gently through the shutters, touching the walls, warming the room - nothing urgent, nothing loud.

This is the side of the project built for clarity: warm walnut, clean lines, thoughtful storage and a layout that supports focus from the moment you sit down.

This multi‑purpose space was designed to shift effortlessly into workout mode — a place where movement feels natural and the details support the rhythm.

The weights, the , the bespoke wall system… each element chosen to make this part of the week feel intentional, not improvised.

We work closely with specialist makers - blacksmiths, metalworkers, and materials experts - to ensure every element feels considered and appropriate.

Ironmongery is not an afterthought. Its weight, finish and tactile quality all contribute to how a space is used and understood.

We make things to last — visibly and structurally.

Traditional joinery techniques like dovetail joints aren’t decorative gestures for us; they’re practical decisions. They allow furniture to move naturally with the building, to age well, and to be repaired rather than replaced.

Every piece is designed for its setting, made slowly, and detailed with intention — so it belongs to the architecture, not just the room.

Good joinery doesn’t shout. It holds its ground quietly.
