Great work has been happening in the South Wests Temperate Rasinforests, from active restoration to training contractor teams. Thanks to Natural England’s - Species Recovery Programme and Plantlife, leading the project.

As co-founders of Freshwater Habitats Trust, Jeremy Biggs and Penny Williams have spent more than 35 years studying ponds and communicating their critical importance for freshwater wildlife.

Now, in a new book in the HarperCollins Publishers UK New Naturalist series, they’ve brought together the latest scientific evidence to show how vital these habitats are for life in Earth.

This is an exciting day for me, (Angie) My last day. My last as Happy Habitats. So whilst it may seem sad, it hasn’t been. I have taken on a new career in a new role. A role I couldn’t be prouder to fulfil in every way. I’ll talk about this properly in a following post. This account does not end but it will be personal experiences and observations.
The last two weeks we’ve been working with a favourite client that couldn’t be more fitting as my last.
On Goss Moor of course! For the Marsh Frittillary. Opening up the molinia habitat further and it was quite frankly some of the hardest graft! But graft that has rewards whilst we step in such beautiful biodiversity that is…. Goss Moor. Entirely feel good work.
I want to thank Natural England for his inspiring expertise and knowledge. Always making us feel proud to be on the tools working for worthy results.

Nigel will be continuing the good work we have been so proud of, with his company. This company many will know as Nigel Powell Arboriculture. This has now changed to Woodlands & Wetlands . He welcomes you all to follow him there. Please do! We have always appreciated the support you all give.
Social media and the website are quite fresh at the moment and being worked on over the coming weeks. But you will find him here
He has the best team of support with the wonderful super woman that is among others who share our ethos and offer amazing expertise.
We are both really looking forward to the future. Thank you all so much for your custom and friendships, I will miss you greatly but Nige is looking forward to continuing this with you all.

Our native hornet is a very important, beautiful, precious and placid pollinator. Please do not mistake this insect for the Asian hornet. Please do not kill this wonderful creature. Whilst I personally remain scared of wasps since a child, (stung severa times in my mouth) I can calmly enjoy seeing our larger European hornet. The wildlife trust has explained them here. Know the differences before you decide to be concerned it’s an Asian hornet.
