As a Gas Safe engineer, one of the most important safety checks I carry out during a boiler service is the Flue Integrity Test.

This test makes sure your boiler’s flue — the pipe that removes harmful combustion fumes — is fully sealed, safe, and working exactly as it should. Even a small leak or damaged joint can allow carbon monoxide to enter your home, so this check is absolutely vital.

Why I do this test:
• To ensure no fumes are leaking into your living space.
• To confirm the boiler has the correct air supply for safe combustion.
• To check for blocked, damaged, or poorly installed flue sections.

The last few weeks I’ve been busy fixing heating systems — seems like everyone’s radiators decided to play up at once! 😅

I ended up doing 4 power flushes recently because of radiators not heating properly, plus a few pump and valve failures caused by sludge in the system.

If your radiators have cold spots or take ages to warm up, it might be time for a power flush — it really does make a big difference! 🔥💧

And at a reasonable not over priced cost.
