We had a midnight call out to an elderly vulnerable couple last night, they had a plumber out looking into another issue when he got an electric shock from the kitchen sink. We arrived on site and tested, the sink was indeed live!! We were unable to fix this one as the installation was so old it was deemed too dangerous to power back up. We contacted Liverpool City Council and sorted out help for the couple through social services. The fuseboard was orginal to the house, 90 years old, no electric shock protection which could of ended up a lot worse than it did.

Emergency call out to total power loss of downstairs sockets. Found the culprit in less than an hour. This outdoor socket was letting in water causing the RCD to keep tripping. We isolated it and will return to install a new one on another visit. All power restored to the sockets and no need for the customer to panic about the freezers defrosting.
