In line with our Carbon Reduction Plan we recently installed 81 no. 455W solar panels, providing a 36 kWp system, on the flat roof areas of our HQ office building in Livingston.

A week after installation by local specialist Pinnacle Solar Ltd, despite the rainy Scottish summer, our initial readings already show imported electricity is down to around 26% of pre-installation levels. The detailed analysis the system provides will allow us to review our habits, specifically timing of charging our EVs to achieve an improved balance between importing power in the early morning where demand is high vs exporting surplus in the afternoons when most vehicles have completed the charging cycle.

We hosted a table at the Spifox Glasgow lunch last Friday. It was enlightening to learn about some of the wonderful charities who benefit from these events and congratulations to Spifox in raising over £157k at the lunch.

Our ultimate holding company, Maxi Caledonian, has published 2025 financial results, with turnover exceeding £106m and profit before tax of just over £5m, both increases on the previous year.

Towards the end of last year we completed a RAAC Remediation project at Pentland Primary School for The City of Edinburgh Council. Work included:
· Deconstruct and remove existing RAAC roof deck
· Supply and install new roof structure and apply new Bauder roof covering
· Install new ceiling finishes and redecorate associated areas
· Strip out and installation of new kitchen including M&E services, equipment, flooring and hygienic wall cladding
