Some before & afters of a recent bathroom refurbishment completed by one of our partners SM Bespoke LTD. Obviously the electrical work carried out by Livingstons local approved electrician. This install is pretty much our basic bathroom fit - recessed downlights, inline high flow fan, illuminated & heated mirror and shaver socket fitted.

Today's fuse box consumer unit replacement, installed to the latest 18th Edition Amd 2 of the wiring regulations and recommendations.

The old unit had a faulty mains switch that's obsolete so a temporary repair was done on friday but a new box was required, this space is tight and the 12way mains switch with SPD enclosure leaving 8 useable ways for RCBO devices to be fitted was the perfect solution here. On the shelf at in Livingston so I could rearrange today's planned job to next week to prioritise this replacement.

All tested and certified using my 6 year old that yes still has the original screen protector and another delighted customer.

These other pictures are some of the issues I've found this week alone yet it's only Wednesday afternoon.

An intruder alarm connected directly into the supply mains with zero protection. A lighting circuit that's just a disaster, switching neutrals incorrect identification and cables used and actually no earth. An outside light wired with the wrong cable type and letting in water tripping the power (less than 6 months old). A rental tested and apparently passed last year that's has no dedicated earth wire (CPC), not even a comment on the suspicious looking certificate issued.

All now being fixed, made safe and properly certified using a suitably qualified approved electrician.

New Scottish legislation for Fire and Smoke alarms – are you compliant?

Carbon monoxide alarms to be fitted where there is a fuel burning appliance or a flue

Ensuite bathroom completed today to compliment the main bathroom we completed a couple of weeks ago.
