Today we had a customer who wanted their gutters cleared and booked us in 3 weeks ago.
At first, when they requested a gutter clear I was a bit confused as this is a brand new build house. I asked if they meant for a Facia clean and they said no, it's to clear the gutters.
Arrived today and before getting all the equipment out the van, popped up on the ladders and checked all the gutters around her house...... completely empty, as expected.
Spoke to the customer and they said when the roofers were replacing tiles, they said her gutters were all blocked and need clearing.
Why, you ask?..... Because they are absolute cowboys and know the customer doesn't have a ladder at home to check, hoping they will get the work to do nothing and charge the oblivious customer.
I told them to hold off and when they do need done in the future, I'll happily drop by and do them. The customer was not charged for any inconvenience on our part.
DON'T TAKE ADVANTAGE OFF YOUR CUSTOMERS
I believe customers will respect your business more if you can be honest with them, unfortunately there are companies out there that will lie to you for a little bit extra cash.
