We have a small timber crane trailer that’s brilliant for moving wood around the farm or forest. No tek no sensors just old skool! We try to keep firewood supply as simple as possible.

This is what 50 tons of graded larch looks like. It has been recently delivered for processing into winter 2026 - 2027 firewood.
Larch is a strange wood because it looks like a softwood but loses its leafs in winter. It has a very high calorific content not dissimilar to many hardwoods and can give a long hot burn. its is used in construction because of its dense properties. Certainly, personally I would rate it well above birch and alder, although not quite as good as the king 'ash'.
The benefits are that it cuts and splits well to give a really nice consistency of log. For those with gasifying boilers it means you can really fill the firebox. A customer in Swansea recently advised me that using larch he boiled his tank for the first time.
Down side with larch is that it takes twice as long to season but we dont mind. When you air dry wood naturally time is on your side.

Fantastic load of (larch 6m3). Air dried to sub 15% moisture content, being delivered to Cae Hopkin tomorrow. If you use a lot of firewood through the winter beat the winter 25 - 26 prices, order and pay before September 1st and buy your winters logs at last years prices. This is locally sourced with no kiln drying is it is one of the most eco friendly fuels you can use this winter.
We also have hardwoods in similar condition or mixed loads, tipped, palleted or bagged.

This is next winters wood seasoning nicely. In September there will be price increases but you can now buy next winters logs at last winters prices. If you have an empty log store make it work for you through the summer and save on next winters heating bill. You can’t do this with electricity or gas!

Save money on next winters logs by ordering pallets of soft or hardwood logs cut to your specification. No need to stack. Just stop the rain from above and you’ll enjoy kiln dried quality at a fraction of the cost. We unload with a small forklift and subject to access your logs can be pretty much put anywhere. No stacking, no barrowing and saving money!
