A group of pupils from Ysgol Betws-Y-Coed enjoyed a special visit to Grŵp Cynefin’s new housing development in Betws-y-Coed today.
An important part of creating new homes in our communities is ensuring that estate names reflect local history and local names and words. That’s why Grŵp Cynefin works closely with the local community to choose an appropriate name for any new development. For this estate, we are working with the pupils of the primary school to select a suitable name for the development, which is located directly opposite the school.
To help spark ideas for the new name, the pupils were shown around the site by Dewi Hughes and Damon Gigg from Gareth Morris Construction Ltd, who are building the homes on behalf of Grŵp Cynefin, along with Ffion Roberts from Grŵp Cynefin.
The five-home development is a mix of intermediate rent and social rent properties and is due for completion this summer. If you are interested in living here, please ensure you are registered with Conwy Council’s housing list: https://www.grwpcynefin.org/en/find-a-home/homes-to-rent/homes-to-rent-in-conwy/ or contact Tai Teg: https://taiteg.org.uk/en/application-form
This project is a partnership between Grŵp Cynefin, Conwy County Borough Council, Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri - Eryri National Park, supported by Welsh Government development grants, with support from Betws-y-Coed Community Council.
