From Aspiring Footballer to Skilled Tradesman 👏

We’re incredibly proud to congratulate Ross Carey on passing his skills test and officially becoming a tradesman.

There’s a story behind these two photos that makes this milestone particularly special for us.

One of the very first donations we made as a company was supplying Newington Primary School with sponsored football kits. Ross was one of the first youngsters to pull on one of those kits.

Fast forward 11 years and that young man has completed primary school, secondary school and now a four-year apprenticeship with Harkness Painting & Decorating.

Ross is a credit to himself and to our company. He’s hardworking, popular with his colleagues and customers, and always keen to learn, progress and improve. His ability and skills are beyond his years, and he has a very bright future ahead of him.

We’re delighted to have played a small part in Ross’s journey — from wearing a Harkness-sponsored football kit as a youngster to becoming a fully qualified tradesman with us today.

Congratulations, Ross. Thoroughly deserved.

Great to see Mids 2011’s recently be crowned league champions for the 25/26 season.

It’s been an honour to provide this talented young side with some sponsorship and we are looking forward to see how they progress next season.

A special thanks to Albert and the other coaches who have made us feel extremely included as sponsors this season, they are excellent ambassadors for the club.

An extra mention should go to them and all other volunteer coaches in grassroots football for keeping these teams going.

🎉 Celebrating 5 Years with Halina Sloan 🎉

Moving onto our 5 years milestones and it’s time to celebrate 5 years of Hala being part of the business.

Hala initially joined us in a part-time bookkeeping role, but over the years she has become a hugely important part of our growth behind the scenes. As the business has evolved, so has Hala’s role — regularly being pushed outside of her comfort zone and continually rising to every challenge along the way.
Through hard work, determination and a fantastic attitude, Hala has adapted and developed an entirely new range of office administration and management skills, becoming a vital part of our day-to-day operations.
We are incredibly grateful that Hala stuck with it, embraced every new challenge, and continues to play such an important role within the company.

Moving into our 11th year in business we are delighted to have some long service awards in 2026.

Today we celebrate an incredible milestone — 10 years with us for Keith.

Keith has been a true model employee from day one. His hard work, strong work ethic, passion for what he does, and precise leadership have made a huge impact to both the team and the business over the years.

He consistently leads by example, always giving 100%, and his dedication never goes unnoticed. We are extremely grateful for everything he has contributed throughout the last decade.

We’re proud to have already donated paint to a number of schools, nurseries, and community groups, helping brighten spaces and support fantastic local initiatives.

We still have some surplus paint available and, as part of our ongoing commitment to sustainable decorating and giving back, we’d love to offer it free to local charities and community organisations. If you have a project in mind, please get in touch and we can see if we can help!
