UKRSTARS LTD completed a full bathroom refurbishment from scratch in Plaistow, East London, in July 2026, transforming the existing space into a modern, practical and high-quality bathroom.

The project involved a complete strip-out followed by comprehensive plumbing and electrical works, including new pipework, drainage modifications and new wiring to suit the redesigned bathroom layout. All wet areas were professionally prepared and waterproofed before tiling to provide a durable, long-lasting installation.

The refurbishment included plastering, wall and floor tiling, plumbing modifications, electrical works and installation of all new sanitaryware and fittings. A modern wall-mounted WC with concealed cistern was installed alongside a floating vanity unit, contemporary basin and quality chrome brassware.

To maximise the available space and create a more bespoke finish, we constructed custom tiled niches and integrated storage areas, including a dedicated illuminated niche. The bathroom was completed with a bath and glass shower screen, rainfall and handheld shower system, LED illuminated mirror, heated towel rail, extractor ventilation and carefully finished detailing throughout.

𝗕𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗸𝗲 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 – 𝗣𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗵𝗮𝗺, 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻.

🕚Completed in May 2026, this Peckham project focused on restoring and enhancing an already beautiful kitchen space through a combination of specialist joinery, flooring restoration, and bespoke carpentry solutions.

🗝Our scope of works began with the professional sanding and refinishing of the existing timber flooring, carefully restoring its natural character while improving durability and appearance throughout the open-plan living area.

🧹We also carried out repair works to the solid wood worktops, bringing tired surfaces back to life through careful preparation and finishing techniques designed to preserve the original features of the kitchen.

⚙️To modernise the space further, we installed a new subway-style tiled splashback, creating a clean and timeless finish while improving practicality around the preparation area.

🛠️A major element of this project involved the design and installation of several bespoke storage solutions. This included the construction of two custom-built cabinet units, a made-to-measure wardrobe/storage unit, and a dedicated utility housing system designed to accommodate stacked laundry appliances while maximising available space.

At UKRSTARS LTD, we were recently instructed to rectify a bathroom floor that had been incorrectly installed by previous contractors. The original floor tiles had been laid directly onto the subfloor without a suitable uncoupling membrane or proper floor preparation. As a result, the floor became uneven, and the tiles began to crack over time.

The client wanted a long-lasting solution while keeping costs under control and avoiding a complete bathroom renovation. Our challenge was to replace the damaged floor and upgrade selected fixtures whilst preserving as much of the existing installation as possible.

𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗻:

✅ Careful removal of existing cracked floor tiles

✅ Inspection and preparation of the existing subfloor

✅ Installation of a professional uncoupling membrane system to prevent future tile movement and cracking

✅ Waterproofing and floor reinforcement works

✅ Application of self-levelling compound to create a perfectly flat and stable surface

✅ Installation of new porcelain floor tiles

✅ Supply and installation of a new shower enclosure whilst retaining the existing shower tray

✅ Removal and reinstallation of the existing WC to facilitate floor replacement

One of the key successes of this project was achieving a complete floor replacement without disturbing the existing wall tiles.
