We supplied and fitted the marble-effect quartz worktops and matching splashback for this kitchen project. Loving how the veining picks up the brass handles and warm flooring.

Anyone can buy a CNC saw. But reading the tension in a natural slab, aligning the cut so the veining flows seamlessly across your kitchen island, and finishing the edge so it feels like a solid block—that is stonemasonry.

The machine provides the digital accuracy, but the mason provides the finish. We treat fabrication as a craft because you expect a flawless installation in your home without visible joints or mismatched patterns.

To achieve this mirrored, geometric pattern directly centered over the hob, the fabrication process has to be exact. It requires sourcing sequential slabs, precise digital templating on site, and highly accurate CNC cutting so the heavy black veining aligns seamlessly across the worktop and full-height splashback.

Paired with matte black handleless cabinetry, the stone acts as the focal point of the room. A millimeter off on the saw, and the illusion is broken. We control the entire process in-house to ensure it isn't.

When you work with Expert Stone, you are dealing directly with the workshop. We hold the raw slabs, run the CNC machinery, and send our own installation teams out to the site. No middlemen, no third-party contractors, and no excuses on lead times.

From the initial digital template to the final fit out of the vans, we control the entire process under one roof.

Thick-profile commercial bar top with precision mitered edges. To create the appearance of a solid block of stone without the impractical weight, this commercial counter was fabricated using mitered downstands. The technical challenge here is tension control during the cut and ensuring the gold veining wraps cleanly over the 90-degree edge.

Our workshop templated the space, cut the slabs, and executed a tight install to sit perfectly flush over the custom fluted base cabinetry. Heavy material, exact tolerances.

There is zero margin for error when cutting natural stone. That is why we don’t rely solely on automation. Our CNC bridge saw handles the heavy cuts with digital precision, but every edge, joint, and tolerance is physically inspected and hand-finished by our fabricators.

We leave nothing to chance in the workshop, which guarantees a clean installation on your site.

Does an etch mark mean your marble worktop is ruined?

It is the most common fear we hear from clients, but it is a misunderstanding of how natural stone behaves. When acid (like lemon juice or vinegar) hits marble, it leaves a dull, flat spot. It looks alarming, but the "damage" is entirely superficial.

If this happens, you have two choices:

Restore it: A professional polish can easily remove the mark and restore the original surface.

Embrace it: Over time, these marks blend together to create a patina—a lived-in character that is highly sought after in traditional European kitchens.

Etching is character, not structural damage. Marble isn't for everyone, but don't let fear dictate your design. Come to the workshop and ask us the honest questions. We would rather help you make the right choice than sell you a stone that doesn't fit your life.

Even with heavy CNC equipment running in our London workshop, every piece of stone is physically inspected by our team. Checking the tolerances, feeling the edges, and ensuring the joints will sit flush before they ever reach the site. We don’t load the vans until the details are right.

Raw material waiting for the saw.

This is our London yard, where heavy slabs of quartz, marble, and natural stone are staged before entering the workshop. Managing the logistics of raw materials and holding project stock directly on-site is how we maintain tight control over our fabrication timelines. From unloading the heavy stone to the final hand-polish, the entire process is managed by our in-house team.
