Small product improvements matter.

When we first designed PlumbShark, the goal was simple: create a compact plumbing tool that actually saves time on real jobs.

Since then, it has continued to evolve.

Not always with big dramatic changes. Sometimes it’s small tweaks most people might not even notice.

But if you use a tool every day, those small details matter.

One bit of feedback we had was around the meter box key function. So we’ve now made that part bigger, giving it better reach and making it easier to access meter box doors.

It’s still the same compact 10-in-1 PlumbShark — just refined again.

That’s how I think trade tools should develop: designed from real experience, improved through real feedback, and kept practical.

Built by a heating engineer, for people who actually use tools.

You don’t know what you don’t know.

Until you’re on a job…
Trying to tighten something awkward…
Or stuck using 3 different tools for something that should take 10 seconds.

That’s where most tools fall down.

They’re not designed from real problems — just copied and tweaked.

PlumbShark was built differently.

Designed from actual on-site frustrations.
Refined through real use.
Built to replace the small, repetitive jobs engineers deal with every day.

It’s not flashy.
But once you use it, you get it.

And that’s the point.

You don’t know what you’re missing…
Until you try it.

I used to hate bleeding old radiators.

The round-top valves… worn, slightly imperial… already chewed up from years of cheap keys slipping.

You’d try once → slip.
Try again → round it off.
Now you’re drilling it, forcing it… or worst case, changing the radiator entirely.

All because the tool doesn’t properly fit.

That’s the bit that never sat right with me.

So we built a key that actually does.

• Fits both modern and older imperial valves
• Grips damaged / rounded vents
• Longer handle = real leverage (not finger strength)
• Stainless steel, not soft brass that deforms

It’s now one of our best sellers, and the feedback is always the same:

“Saved me replacing the radiator.”

Sometimes good product design isn’t about innovation for the sake of it.

It’s just about solving a problem
properly.

One of the common early spring call outs for engineers!

A call comes in: “The radiators are cold at the top again. I bled them last week and they’re already gurgling.” It’s a familiar pattern for many gas engineers this time of year. The customer expects a quick bleed and move on, but two or three visits later the same complaint returns. Persiste...
