This month, we had the pleasure of hosting work experience placements for two students from Eltham Hill School and two students from Harris Sutton Academy.
During their placements, the students had the opportunity to get to grips with 3D modelling software, creating their own modular designs before bringing them to life as physical models. They explored a range of modelling materials to construct modular frames and personalise their designs with finishes and interior details.
It was fantastic to see the students’ creativity, enthusiasm and problem-solving skills develop throughout the week.
This is what the students had to say about their experience:
“I have learnt the importance of teamwork within a workspace through creating a project with a friend. Furthermore, I realised that architecture is not simply just drawing and sketching buildings, but it requires a much wider range of knowledge, as well as critical thinking skills.”
“Everyone in the practice was checking up on us and commenting on the work we had done, as well as questioning certain ways we did certain things which helped us learn more about architecture as well as everyone working at astudio!”
