Our recent project in Chelsea is approaching completion – a full heating and hot water installation across a five-storey property.
The system features five underfloor heating manifolds (one per floor) and an unvented hot water cylinder. The original heating design was provided by the client’s consultant, although we made several modifications on site, including the addition of a low loss header to achieve the required flow rates across the heating circuits.
Due to the boiler being located in the basement, the specification called for a 40kW Ideal Evomax light commercial boiler with a vertical flue run of almost 20 metres all the way to the roof 🫣. We proposed relocating the boiler to reduce the flue length, but on projects of this scale and specification, there is often very little flexibility once the design has been approved.
All five underfloor heating manifolds are being supplied by a single 25-8 pump and remote blending valve arrangement. The final performance will soon be put to the test during commissioning, as this aspect of the system was designed by the underfloor heating specialists.
Another challenging project nearly complete, and we look forward to seeing the system fully commissioned and operating as intended.
