Trees have taken care of us for as long as we have existed.

And they will continue to do so if we take care of them.

Today we bring you the inimitable Joshua Tree. This funky looking evergreen desert-dweller is native to southwestern USA and Northern Mexico. 🏜🇲🇽🇺🇸

In fact, they’re so cool they have an entire national park named after them.😎

Legend has it that Mormon settlers crossing the Mojave Desert in the mid-19th century named the tree after the biblical figure, Joshua. The limbs of the trees outstretched as if in prayer and guiding the travellers westward through the desert. 🤲

It’s Earth Day today, and we’re acknowledging the occasion simply by appreciating the miracle that that mote of dust even exists and we get to enjoy the ride. 🌏🙏

Selva went live last year and, thanks to all you lot, we’ve now planted a whopping 50,000 carbon-hungry trees. 🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳

These trees would cover about 8 professional football pitches and will absorb enough CO2 to compensate for the annual emissions of 1,200 petrol cars. 👌

Next stop, 100k. Then 1 million. Then 1 billion. Help us get there. 💪💪💪

Nothing announces the arrival of Spring quite like Japan’s famous cherry blossom trees, known as 'sakura' in Japanese. 🏯🎌🗾

They symbolise renewal and hope, and are in peak bloom right about now.

These are photos from our partner on the ground in northern Madagascar where the trees grow fast and the good times last.

In March we planted another 9,704 mangroves like the ones in these pictures, all thanks to our awesome subscribers. 🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳

Yes, reduce your personal footprint where you are willing and able to, and then offset the rest by planting carbon hungry trees at the world’s best reforestation projects.🌳🌳

Ideal for escaping the rat race, lockdowns, biblical floods, zombie apocalypses.

Not ideal for sleepwalkers. 🚶💤❌

This photo is genuine and was taken in Oregon, USA.

Ropes were first used to make the measurements of the smiley on the ground. Then larch trees, which turn yellow in the autumn, were planted for the face. Fir trees, which don’t turn yellow, were planted around the larch trees to create this effect. 🌳🟡🌳

Maybe we should plant Selva trees in a similar style…🤔
