“Make sure you take advantage of AI right now to do the best work you can. And start to predict what your role will be, because it won’t be what it is today.”

An insightful perspective from Tim Fu, founder of Studio Tim Fu, at the ATN Summit 2026. On urgency, relearning the fundamentals, and why architects who engage with AI seriously right now are the ones who will shape what the profession becomes. .fu

Some of the most interesting work at MVRDV starts in a university.

MVRDV has built a relationship with academic institutions, turning long-term research into student-led urban experiments that feed directly back into the practice. This is what it looks like when a studio treats education not as an extra but as a core part of how ideas develop.

Research, experimentation, and the next generation of designers all in the same room.

“This is different. This is actually taking the power of diffusion models and its design process and digitising it.”

Tim Fu at the ATN Summit 2026 with a first look at Urban GPT. Proprietary AI research, diffusion models trained on urban design data, and internal tools that take the whole process from site to configured geometry automatically.

This is what building your own tools looks like .fu

Architects are becoming increasingly autonomous as creators, and the timing has never been better.

Mariana Cabugueira of MC Studios came to the ATN Summit 2026 with some great advice for designers ready to back themselves. The corporate world has changed. The tools are there. The opportunity is real.

That shift in mindset is where everything starts. .x

150 people building a virtual city. Game designers, movie designers, developers from Blade Runner and Marve, and one architect.

Mariana Cabugueira shared an insightful perspective at the ATN Summit on why that ratio is a problem, why architects belong in virtual world building, and why you already have the tools to show up as a solo creator outside of your corporate job.

This one is worth watching. .x

“You can stop talking about AI and start thinking about ideas.”

An insightful perspective from Pablo Zamorano, head of geometry and computational design at , on why generative AI speaking human language is a bigger deal than most people realise.

Technology that everyone can engage with, not just the people who already know how to use it.

That is where creative thinking starts to scale.

🏅 ATN x D5 Video Competition — 9th Place

Between Rain and Light by James Callans

An atmospheric journey through a Pacific island bamboo forest, exploring the changing relationship between architecture, landscape, weather, and light over the course of a single day.

Rather than focusing solely on the building itself, this entry creates a strong sense of place — using rain, light, sound, and wildlife to craft a rich and immersive experience.

A beautifully composed piece that demonstrates the power of atmosphere and storytelling 👏

In collaboration with D5 Render, BIG, and HP, this competition challenged participants to reimagine the BIG Biosphere through a 30–60 second film — and this entry delivered a memorable and evocative response.
