James is currently working with a growing M&E contractor looking to recruit an experienced M&E Estimator to join their pre-construction team.

You'll be responsible for producing accurate and competitive tenders for commercial M&E projects valued up to £2m, working closely with clients, subcontractors and internal delivery teams.

The Role
➡️ Prepare detailed M&E estimates and tender submissions.
➡️ Review drawings, specifications and project requirements.
➡️ Produce take-offs, cost plans and first-principles estimates.
➡️Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
➡️ Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
➡️ Attend site visits, surveys and tender meetings as required.
➡️ Work closely with internal teams to develop commercially viable bids.
➡️ Support projects from tender stage through to handover.

Requirements
🚨 Minimum 5 years' experience as an M&E Estimator.
🚨 Strong commercial project experience.
🚨 Proven track record pricing projects up to £2m.
🚨 Knowledge of first-principles estimating and NSR schedules.
🚨 Experience using estimating software and take-off packages.
🚨 HNC or equivalent in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
🚨 Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.

About You
👉 3-6 years' experience as a Document Controller within the construction industry.

Join a growing M&E team where you'll take the lead on electrical compliance, quality assurance, and technical support across a range of commercial projects. You'll play a key role in ensuring electrical compliance across a range of commercial projects, providing technical support, carrying out inspections, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

What You'll Be Doing
⭐ Acting as the company's NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor.
⭐ Ensuring all electrical work meets BS7671 and NICEIC standards.
⭐ Reviewing and approving certification and technical documentation.
⭐ Carrying out site inspections, audits, and quality checks.
⭐ Supporting engineers and site teams with technical guidance.
⭐ Overseeing inspection, testing, and commissioning activities.
⭐ Liaising with clients, NICEIC representatives, and auditors.
⭐ Promoting best practice and a strong safety culture across projects.

What We're Looking For
➡️ Previous experience in a NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor or similar compliance-focused role.
➡️ NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
➡️ 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
➡️ City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection & Testing.
➡️ Valid ECS Card
