We’re very excited to have this large extension in Bromley started on site !

The rear and side extensions are organised around a courtyard, ensuring the spaces are filled with light and offering views out to greenery.

We are delighted to have received permission for this exciting project! Our proposal for the landscape and boundary treatment of a data centre in London explores the hidden systems that shape both the digital and natural worlds.

The design takes its cues from data maps, server cabling and the branching geometry of tree root systems — networks that quietly sustain the movement of information, water and nutrients. Although they operate in different realms, both rely on connection, resilience and flow.

Curved steel rods rise from the ground like emerging roots or bundles of data cables, while sculpted colourful connectors punctuate the composition. These connectors reference the ceramic insulators used throughout electrical infrastructure. The colours of the connectors refer to the colour charts of the drugs which historically were milled at the site.

Behind the structure, biodiverse planting softens the edge of the building, creating a living backdrop that evolves with the seasons and reinforces the dialogue between technology and ecology.

Rather than concealing the infrastructure of the site, the proposal celebrates it—transforming the language of data into a new piece of public realm that is rooted in both innovation and place.

We are delighted that our project Bulls Barn received 3 awards at this years Sussex Heritage Trust awards!

Bulls Barn was a winner in the Small Scale Residential Award: New Build. It was also highly commended in the Eco Award and the South Downs Award!

The judges said “Upon entering the house, all three judges said ‘wow’. A contemporary interpretation of a farmstead cluster of traditional Sussex architecture anchored within the landscape using traditional materials in a crisp and exceptionally detailed and minimalist manner – flint and clay tile hanging, that’s it. An innovative rainwater collection and irrigation system has been carefully integrated into the façade design. Internally there are a collection of multigenerational spaces, with external areas around the house introduced into the property at every opportunity. Flint detailing continued into the inside, used for the two bookend chimneys, with fireplaces surrounded by pebble dashed concrete. Sustainability and ecological credentials for the building and surrounding landscaping are impressive. A delightful and wonderful family home.”

On the drawing board ! ✍️ Some concept design options for a recent project !

At Selencky Parsons we work from the inside out: we explore several internal layout options and once the client has chosen their preferred option, we explore several options for what it could look like.

This project featured a double height space internally which looked onto a courtyard garden, filling the back room of the existing house with light. This project is a great example of the range of ideas Selencky Parsons will present to a client: from flat roofs to pitched, some referencing the existing building more and others deliberately contrasting with it. The way the options are articulated externally impacts how the spaces work internally too. We love to show a client what is possible so they can choose what works best for them!

At Selencky Parsons we aim for our work to always have a clear narrative and concept, which can be carried throughout the design. Which option would you pick?

Great to see this project nearing completion in Brockley!

The existing property has benefitted from a rear extension, a two storey side extension, which forms a new entrance, as well as, extending the bay at the front. New windows further improve the existing property. The semi- detached neighbour also decided to replace their windows and extend the bay to the front, revitalising the pairs street presence. Swipe for the before and after !

The design of the new additions uses coloured render, with textured, raked render details. The colour references the existing, while also being a bold, modern addition to the house.

New images of our new build home in the North Kent countryside, which references the nearby Napoleonic Gunpowder Works!

‘Gunpowder House’
The design responds directly to its setting, maximising panoramic landscape views while drawing inspiration from the area’s rich architectural history and material character.

The solid outer layer is crafted from local brick and references the historic structures of the nearby Napoleonic Oare Gunpowder Works. These industrial buildings, designed to withstand explosions, feature the use of battered brick walls, robust forms, and deep reveals.

The house presents a more solid and protective face to the publicly visible north-east and south-east elevations, while the south-west and north-west elevations open out towards the garden and landscape beyond.

The massing and forms of the house allude to an inhabited ruin. The brick elements are carefully articulated through varying heights, and textures. Hit-and-miss brick screens that filter light into the entrance courtyard and house. A prominent chimney and hearth form a focal point within the house and reference the distinctive chimneys of the gunpowder works.
