A new chapter in a changing world!

For over 35 years, DBR has been conserving some of Britain's most extraordinary historic buildings - palaces, cathedrals, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, modest parochial churches, ensuring every element of the past, has a future.

What began as a specialist London team has grown into something far broader: a company now working across the UK and beyond, with the skills, capacity, and reach to take on everything from intricate stone repairs to complete conservation and retrofit of historic buildings. That growth demanded a new way of showing who we are.

Our new website is built to do exactly that.

It's a space to showcase the real DNA of DBR - our people, their passion, and the traditional crafts they've dedicated their careers to mastering. Stonemasons, joiners, conservators, leadworkers and other specialists whose expertise has earned us the trust to become Royal Warrant holders, along with our highly dedicated managers and technicians.

It reflects the scale of what we do: from quiet, careful interventions on Grade I listed structures to major contracts that reinterpret cultural assets for communities. And it honours our wonderful repeat customers β€” the clients who return to us project after project, because they know the quality of work we deliver.

This site is project-first, evidence-led, and designed to let the craftsmanship speak for itself.

We're proud of where we've come from. We're excited about where we're going. Conservationists for a changing world.

Introducing heritage skills to the next generation πŸ“£

We were delighted to host a Heritage Skills Taster Day at our Heritage Education Centre located in the South Downs National Park, welcoming students from Brighton College and ChichesterCollege, alongside representatives from the Sussex Heritage Trust Trust and an aspiring young student who attended with his father, all keen to learn more about the heritage and conservation industry.

Throughout the day, participants gained valuable insight into the world of traditional building crafts and had the opportunity to take part in a range of hands-on workshops, including:
πŸ”¨ Masonry
🧱 Brickwork & Stonework
🏠 Leadwork & Roofing
✍️ Letter Cutting

It was fantastic to see such enthusiasm and engagement from everyone who attended. Preserving traditional skills is essential to protecting our built heritage, and we are passionate about helping to inspire the next generation to explore careers within the sector.

We would like to thank everyone who joined us and contributed to making the day a success.

At DBR Limited, we are incredibly proud of this initiative and excited to continue developing opportunities for education and engagement within the heritage industry. We look forward to hosting more events in the future and welcoming even more students, educators, and industry partners to our Heritage Education Centre.

A timely perspective from our Executive Director and Chairman, Adrian Attwood on the importance of strengthening the pipeline of traditional heritage skills.

Expanding apprenticeship opportunities is an important step, but long-term success will depend on attracting and developing the next generation of skilled craftspeople. Preserving specialist expertise requires commitment from industry, education and society alike.

Well worth a read for anyone interested in the future of the built environment and heritage sector.
