Last week, we had the pleasure of visiting Enikő Leányvári, DBR Ltd Scholar and founder of , at her studio in Cockpit Arts, London ✨

A classically trained mosaicist, Enikő’s work bridges tradition and innovation, from intricate micromosaics to large-scale floors and murals. She is particularly dedicated to filato micromosaic, a highly skilled technique developed in 18th-century Rome, and is committed to both preserving and evolving this rare artform.

At DBR, we are incredibly proud to support and champion talent like Enikő. Seeing her dedication, craftsmanship, and impact first-hand is a powerful reminder of why nurturing specialist skills and heritage techniques matters.

Alongside her own practice, Enikő balances bespoke commissions with teaching and community projects, bringing a deep understanding of material and process to everything she creates, whether at jewellery scale or architectural level.

It was inspiring to see her craftsmanship up close and learn more about her journey and dedication to keeping this heritage alive 👏

is now open after a 1.3 billion regeneration scheme of this iconic event space, and we’re proud to have played a part in bringing this landmark project to life ⚒

Our team delivered the statues of Demeter, Triptolemus, and Persephone, along with reconstruction of the classical façade to the Grand Hall cheek wall. Each sculpture was carefully hand-carved before making its journey to site.

Once on site, DBR masons expertly installed every piece, using a blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary methods to achieve a refined and lasting finish.

A fantastic collaboration celebrating heritage, artistry, and precision, now open for all to experience ✨

DBR is delighted to have completed conservation work on the historic Elfin Oak for The Royal Parks

This extraordinary carved sculpture brings to life the magical world of the Little People, a fascination that also inspired J.M. Barrie, author of Peter Pan 🎬

Characters such as Wookey the Witch, Hucklebury the Gnome, Grumples, and Groodle have been carefully cleaned and repainted by our skilled conservators, helping preserve the charm and storytelling etched into the oak for over a century.

With the recent release of the new ‘The Magical Faraway Tree’ film, based on Enid Blyton’s beloved stories of enchanted woods, towering magical trees, and curious characters, there’s never been a better moment to celebrate the imagination, folklore, and craftsmanship embodied in the Elfin Oak.

Just like Blyton’s enchanted tree, the Elfin Oak invites visitors to look a little closer… and discover a world of magic hidden in plain sight.

Careful conservation in progress at Arnos Vale Cemetery by our DBR Bristol team 📣

Works include the sensitive removal of defective coping stones affected by delamination and incorrect installation against their natural bed. These are being replaced with new Hartham Park T2 base-bed coping stones, laid in line with traditional masonry best practice to ensure long-term durability and performance.

Alongside this, the existing asphalt roof covering is being renewed with a high-quality waterproofing system, delivering a robust, weatherproof finish while respecting the historic character of the structure.

A big thank you to DBR stonemasons Peter Cross and Dennis Moca for their skilled work, and to site foreman Victor Moca for overseeing the project on site.

We were honoured to attend the Royal Warrant Holders Luncheon yesterday and proud to be part of such an inspiring occasion as a Royal Warrant Holder✨

The event featured insightful speeches from Roger Stephenson, National President of the Royal Warrant Holders Association and Grantee of James Lock & Co.; Lisa Montague, Chair of QEST; and Robert Hardman, author of Elizabeth II: In Private. In Public. The Inside Story, whose reflections offered a compelling perspective on service, duty, and the enduring legacy of Her Late Majesty. We are also proud to support emerging talent through our partnership with QEST, with Enikő Leányvári currently representing DBR as the latest DBR Limited scholar in collaboration with QEST.

We were delighted to host guests from across the property, heritage, and cultural sectors, making for a memorable afternoon of conversation and connection.

Events such as these are a valuable reminder of the importance of preserving traditional skills, championing quality, and celebrating the organisations and individuals who continue to uphold the standards represented by the Royal Warrant.

Thank you to the organisers and everyone who attended for such an enjoyable and inspiring event ✨

What an inspiring week celebrating across two very special locations, Broadwater Farm Estate and the Palace of Westminster.

At Broadwater Farm, we were delighted to bring craft directly into the heart of the community. With Enikő Leányvári (), DBR–QEST scholar and mosaic artist, leading an engaging workshop and talk, participants experienced first-hand the skill, patience and creativity that underpin this time-honoured craft and the wider world of conservation.

Later in the week, we were proud to continue the celebration at the Palace of Westminster, where we showcased our encaustic tile project. It was a fantastic opportunity to share the story behind the work, with DBR’s Rory Smith, who worked on the projects, offering valuable insights into the process and craftsmanship involved, alongside our Executive Director and Chairman, Adrian, who highlighted its wider significance. A sincere thank you to the Palace team for hosting and supporting the event.

A huge thank you to Haringey Council for their support at Broadwater Farm, and to everyone who joined us across both events, your enthusiasm and engagement made the week truly memorable. Moments like these show how craft connects people, places and stories in meaningful ways, from local communities to iconic national landmarks.

And of course, special recognition goes to our brilliant DBR Conservation team at Broadwater Farm Estate, whose passion and dedication made it all possible.

A special mention to DBR’s Marketing Assistant, Pari, whose coordination, creativity and behind-the-scenes work helped bring both events to life so seamlessly.

We’re proud to be part of a week that celebrates not just craftsmanship, but the people and stories that keep it alive.
