Autumn is here, jobs to do in September
Plant and Divide

Spring-Flowering Bulbs: Plant
daffodils
crocus,
hyacinths for vibrant spring displays.

Herbaceous Perennials: Divide and replant perennials to promote healthy growth and increase your plant stock.

Maintain and Tidy

Net Ponds: Install netting over ponds to prevent leaves from falling in and causing debris buildup.

Cleaning: Clear out cold frames and greenhouses to prepare for autumn sowing and growing.

Prune and Deadhead

Prune Roses: After flowering, prune your roses to encourage new growth.

Deadheading: Continue deadheading annuals and perennials to extend their blooming period.

The Garden Makers can help you with your garden to prepare it for Winter and Spring.

August update:
In this hot dry weather some plants fare better than others
Trees: most trees cope quite well with drought others are more problematic, look around you and see which ones are flourishing, leaf drop is just a survival mechanism to minimise water loss.
Perennials: Some are better than others, ones to watch out for in your garden include: Hardy Geranium, Verbena, Eryngium, Sedums, Verbascum, Echinacea, Achillea Geums and Salvia.
Evergreen shrubs and ornamental grasses also fare well
When water is scarce spot water with a can to target plants that need it.
Lawns are problematic but always bounce back after a long exposure to rain, the roots survive.
