SPPARC Architecture is a young design-led architectural practice delivering architecture, master plans, refurbishments and interior architecture schemes across the UK and Europe. From the outset of the design process SPPARC enhance the opportunities for design by exploiting the schemes potential to its fullest creating higher value for each project by pushing the boundaries of the brief. SPPARC pr

ides itself in not having a house style but thoroughly explores the brief to create innovative and bespoke solutions from inception to completion. The ethos of SPPARC is not one of growth but consistent delivery of high quality resolved architecture. We are selective in the projects we undertake to ensure we provide the service of excellence our clients expect. SPPARC’s projects are informed by the way people interact and reflect the importance of the architecture and interior fabric that surrounds them; every project undertaken by SPPARC Architecture is defined by the team’s pursuit of excellence. Form and commerciality are fused to deliver bespoke architecture that generates economic and social interaction within the public and private realms. Our dedicated design studio has an uncompromising approach to thorough detailing which is applied to each scheme. SPPARC is continually proud of its ability to become involved with exciting innovative projects; it’s always our philosophy to ensure an ongoing relationship to establish a comprehensive solution that will exceed our clients’ expectation. Our projects encompass all stages of the RIBA work plan; we have industry recognised expertise in delivering high quality environments that provide value through design with an inherent understanding of market expectation. SPPARC integrate high quality design solutions that add commercial value through sympathetic and considered design techniques whilst respecting the sensitivity of the budget restraints to ensure deliver-ability of every project.

How do you approach the design of new elements on historic sites to avoid mimicry, but still feel connected to the original buildings?

From the revival of London’s Saville Theatre to the reinvention of OlympiaUK and Ravenscourt Park Hospital, SPPARC is leading some of the UK’s most ambitious heritage transformations.

In Architect Projects, our Principal Trevor Morriss shares how we approach the delicate balance of preservation with progress in respect to these projects. Crafting contemporary interventions that enhance the original fabric through considered form, detail, and materiality.

Trevor comments: “At the beginning of any project, we are like detectives looking for clues. For us, it’s about legacy, learning from that era when craftsmanship was such an important part of the design process and how we express that through materiality.”

We’re proud to be leading the transformation of the former Ravenscourt Park Hospital in Hammersmith, bringing new life to a site that has stood vacant for nearly two decades. With planning approval now secured by TT Group, we are excited to deliver a residential-led redevelopment that respects the heritage of the site while creating a vibrant new chapter for the community.

The Grade II* listed landmark, which appears on Historic England’s Heritage at Risk register, will be repurposed as 140 new homes, a 65-bed care home and space for public hire.

The latest issue of Mix Interiors is out now and includes a feature on our restoration of the Saville Theatre.

The article highlights the value of returning the building to its original purpose:
“There’s something to be said about renovating to reinstate an architecture’s primitive function; the rationale that shaped the building in the first instance, not to mention the very reason that a neighbourhood’s reputation came to be.”

It’s a privilege to be working with Yoo Capital to support the renewal of this historic site and help reestablish its role in the cultural life of the city.

We're thrilled to see Greycoat Stores shortlisted in the prestigious Retrofit category for the 2025 NLA Awards!

Originally built in the 1870s for The Army and Navy Co-operative Society, the former grocery warehouse had fallen into disrepair. Our aim was to give it a confident new life - respecting its heritage while delivering a vibrant mixed-use destination in the heart of Westminster.

The result is a series of assertive commercial, retail and leisure spaces, all stitched into a building that once stood hidden in plain sight.

We need your vote!

If you’d like to support the project, we’d love your vote in the People’s Choice Award (Retrofit category) here: https://www.cognitoforms.com/NewLondonArchitecture1/NLAAwards2025PeoplesChoiceAward

The voting deadline is Friday 3 October.

Congratulations to our clients RE Capital and LaSalle Investment Management and all shortlisted projects!
