“AI has given me space to be more human.” - Arthur Mamou-Mani
As AI, computation and digital fabrication become increasingly embedded in architectural practice, the question is not whether we use technology, but how we use it to create more space for what remains deeply human.
For Arthur, that means less time spent on repetitive processes and more time to think, listen, question, make, collaborate and connect.
Technology can help us analyse faster, explore more possibilities and iterate earlier. Its value is not in replacing creativity or judgement, but in amplifying them.
Architecture has always been about more than tools. It is about people, relationships, materials, places and the conversations that shape meaningful design.
Perhaps the opportunity is not to become more machine-like, but to use technology to become more present, more curious and more human.
How do you think technology is changing the human side of design?
