SPOTTED IN ADVANCE! 👀🏡

While carrying out works in the garden, our engineer spotted a gutter with missing clips causing water to leak directly onto the brickwork, which is already starting to show through the dark external staining.

Thankfully, there’s currently no internal damage, but if left unresolved, this could easily lead to damp and more costly issues down the line.

Sometimes, a small patch of damage reveals a much bigger issue.. 🔨

Our engineer attended this property to assess a damp bathroom ceiling caused by ongoing condensation and steam build-up from the shower area.

As the flaking paint was removed, a large section of plasterboard came away due to the moisture damage underneath. Loose plaster was removed, the ceiling treated with peel stop paint, and bonding plaster applied to stabilise the area. 👷

With no extractor fan installed and only a wall grill leading into the void behind the wall, moisture has continued to build up over time resulting in this outcome.

Unfortunately due to safety guidelines a repair is not advised! Instead, the whole ceiling would need to be replaced to avoid it falling down and causing anyone any harm.

Our expertise and skilled engineers will always put safety first and therefore a detailed report was put to the client to ensure the ceiling is not a health hazard!
