Stairs fluff prepared and installed. Attempting to lock the piles on the edges with seam cement and actually worked well.

Most floors are to be installed, others we preserve.
Nearly 600 pieces, Victorian tiles a few decades old and no spares. I checked even the neighbours and none had anything similar in case I had to borrow some …
Saying Yes to this challenge was the easy part, preparing everything and especially de grouting them was more than pushing my luck but life favours the brave I guess..
Not perfect Not supposed to be either

Welding a butterfly external on a 38mm cove.
Controlled heat and a little patience… then I noticed I’d somehow created a Stormtrooper at the bottom. 😄

Once you see it, you can’t unsee it.

May the COVE be with you. ⚔️

Respect and shoutout to the carpet guys out there! Most aspects of our industry involve hard working but commercial carpets are seriously tough, but are they paid well?!

Vinyl floor repair in a commercial kitchen. I’m sure you’ve seen and done this before.. unfortunately I only fixed the issue not the leaking cold room causing all this mess. There’s only so much we can do sometimes… Messy Uplift / Grinded subfloor / moisture suppressant primer / fast drying smoothing compound / feather finish repair cement / contact adhesive where coved up / two part F49 adhesive / 3mm Polysafe vinyl installed and hot welded seams - Job Done

The welding gets the attention But careful preparation is what makes the finished floor look seamless and stay that way.
A coved vinyl floor is only as good as the preparation behind it.

In this job you’ll see the complete build-up:
✔️ Priming the wall
✔️ Installing the Bostik contact tape
✔️ Fitting the capping strip
✔️ Installing the vinyl
✔️ Cutting an internal mitre
✔️ Tucking the vinyl neatly into the capping
✔️ Final inspection before hot welding

Marmoleum to vinyl? The choice of weld rod matters.

A quick reminder I picked up while revisiting the Forbo installation guide.

When welding Marmoleum to vinyl, the Marmoweld rod will bond to both materials. A standard vinyl weld rod won’t bond properly to Marmoleum.

Even after years of fitting floors, it’s worth going back to the manufacturer’s guidance. Small details like this can make the difference between a seam that lasts and one that doesn’t.
