The construction industry does not suffer from a lack of information. It suffers from a lack of control, continuity and ex*****on.

In my latest article, I introduce the forthcoming KREODx AEC Project Assembly User Guide and explain why it has been created, the commercial problems it addresses, and how it formalises the KREODx approach to structuring project information, assemblies, responsibilities and deliverables.

This is not simply a guide to folders, naming conventions or software. It is a practical framework for turning design information into an executable commercial delivery system, connecting design, engineering, DfMA, procurement, manufacturing, construction, handover and lifecycle information through one controlled structure.

KREODx does not stop at drawings or models.

KREODx is not merely software. It is a commercial ex*****on ecosystem.

The construction industry has standards for drawings.

Manufacturing has standards for product structures.

Buildings deserve the same.

The KREODx AEC Project Assembly User Guide defines how projects should be structured from the very first assembly through to every sub-assembly, component and DfMA kit.

This is one of the core foundations of the KREODx platform, enabling design to become executable rather than open to interpretation.

Construction doesn’t need another layer of digital decoration.

It needs executable information.

For too long, the industry has confused 3D BIM modelling with certainty. A beautiful model may help people visualise a building, but it doesn’t tell you whether the building can be manufactured, procured, priced, assembled or delivered without commercial chaos.

That is the gap KREODx was created to close.

KREODx turns design intent into coordinated, manufacturable and financially actionable information before construction begins.

It connects design, engineering logic, real quantities, live cost, fabrication data, procurement intelligence, assembly logic and site delivery into one continuous workflow.

The objective isn’t to save a few clicks in a software interface. That’s weak ambition.

The real objective is to remove ambiguity from construction.

Rethinking the Roof of the City

Most cities are running out of land.
But they are not running out of roofs.

This design study explores how existing residential buildings can evolve into vibrant communities through carefully designed rooftop development.

Rather than demolition, the proposal adds a new geometric rooftop layer above the existing brick buildings. The faceted structure creates new homes, shared spaces and terraces while activating the skyline and bringing new life to the neighbourhood.

By building above what already exists, cities can grow more sustainably, increase housing supply and strengthen communities without erasing their foundations.

Architecture should not just expand cities.
It should upgrade them.
