When you get an organic testimonial like this you have to share it! We spend a lot of time getting the detail right and it is lovely to hear it is working when the test is to the extreme.

We used wood fibre insulation and lime render on the walls and roof of the Barn which is breathable and high performing to create a building with a more than comfortable indoor climate during the hot summers and cold winters 🤩

The second in our series of recent residential projects focuses on a mid-Victorian townhouse in the Blackheath Conservation Area.

Like many homes of its era, the layout was beautiful but compartmentalised - with poor connections between kitchen, living spaces and garden.

Our role was to open up the home without eroding the qualities that made it special.

By carefully reworking the lower ground floor, enlarging garden openings, and improving vertical connections, we transformed the heart of the house into a light-filled, practical space for everyday family life.

This project shows how thoughtful structural changes, guided by heritage understanding, can dramatically improve how a home feels and functions.

This is the first of three recently completed residential projects where sensitive, conservation-led design made everyday living significantly better.

Set within the Riverhead Conservation Area, this listed property needed to support intergenerational living without compromising its historic character.

The challenge was transforming a small, deteriorating outbuilding into a comfortable, independent annexe, while improving the main house at the same time.

Through careful surveying, breathable materials, and a light-touch contemporary extension, we were able to unlock new usable space, improve thermal comfort, and preserve the building’s fabric for the long term.
