Last week on Thursday 02 July, Becky Robertson of F&T attended Year 10 interview practice at St. Benedicts Catholic School in Colchester. She was asked to do this by a friend who is an English teacher at the school.

This event was organised by the careers team at the school to give the students some experience in a real-life interview situation, talking to professionals, some of which work in the areas that the students were interested in. The school had prepared a set of questions for each professional, and each interviewer had about 5 or 6 students each to interview. The interviewer/professional had to read the students cv and following the interview score them and provide feedback on the students conduct including quality of body language, eye contact, interest in the questions and how they answered.

Becky thoroughly enjoyed the experience and found all the students she interviewed an absolute pleasure to talk to. They were so enthusiastic and some of them had a very clear vision of their future. They were very inspiring and already achieving so much within school and externally in their personal lives. All in all, it was a very rewarding experience.

We are extremely sad to announce that Colin Martin sadly passed away over the weekend, only two years into his retirement. This is emotionally challenging to announce as the news come as a huge shock to us.

Colin was such an asset to the business for the 19 years he was with F&T, 17 years of which as Director. Colin was a larger than life character, always bringing joy and laughter to us with his many stories. He had such a passion for travelling and watching football, with grand travelling plans throughout his retirement.

Colin will be sorely missed.
