Is your premises meeting its fire safety obligations?

Whether you manage a school, commercial building, hospitality venue or healthcare site, effective fire safety arrangements are essential. Fire alarms, emergency lighting and other life safety systems must be properly maintained and ready to operate when needed.

The responsible person for most non-domestic premises must carry out and regularly review a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment. This should identify hazards, assess who may be at risk and determine the precautions required for that particular building.

Key areas to review include:

✅ Fire risk assessment: Keep it current and review it following significant changes, incidents or identified concerns.

✅ System maintenance: Arrange appropriate inspection, testing and servicing of fire alarms, emergency lighting and other fire safety equipment.

✅ Alarm monitoring: Where remote monitoring is provided, confirm that signalling, keyholder and response arrangements remain correct.
