In her recent interview with Dezeen, DOMstay founder Marta Nowicka discusses the thinking behind her self-designed studio at Camber Sands and how this compact, year-round sanctuary has been shaped by its exposed coastal setting.
Built just 20 metres from the sea, the studio responds to the landscape through its curved form, while making use of recycled and upcycled materials throughout.
Built on a leftover 43-square-metre plot just 20 metres from the beach, its curved walls echo the surrounding topography. Constructed using recycled and upcycled materials, the studio is an exercise in making the most of what is already there and in allowing the landscape to shape the architecture.
