Another successful sauna heater repair completed!

This Tylö 6.6kW sauna heater had stopped working after the manual thermal cut-out had operated. After carrying out fault finding, the safety device was reset and a full electrical inspection was completed to ensure the heater was operating correctly.

Our testing included: ✔️ Insulation resistance testing ✔️ Heating element resistance measurements ✔️ Current draw testing ✔️ Internal visual inspection of electrical components

All three heating elements tested correctly, with balanced current draw, and the heater was returned to normal operation.

As part of the visit, we also assessed the condition of the heater and provided advice on future replacement options should the fault reoccur. We also recommended upgrading the heater connection to a heat-resistant cable if a new heater is installed, in line with the manufacturer's installation recommendations.

Another interesting HUUM sauna fault-finding job today.

We were called to a recently installed HUUM sauna heater and HUUM UKU control system that wasn't operating correctly and was displaying sensor errors.

Following a detailed inspection, we discovered several installation issues:

• Only one heating element had been connected.
• The temperature/safety sensor had been installed in the wrong location.
• The door safety sensor had been bypassed, which may invalidate the manufacturer's warranty.
• The 9 kW HUUM heater had been connected using 2.5 mm² PVC flexible cable instead of the specified heat-resistant cable.

Sauna installations can be more complex than they first appear. Many three-phase sauna heaters can be connected to a single-phase supply, but only if the manufacturer's wiring instructions are followed correctly. Sensor positioning, cable selection and correct wiring methods are essential for safe operation and long-term reliability.

Another successful Dr Detox infrared sauna repair completed.

We were called to a Dr Detox infrared sauna that had completely stopped working. After carrying out systematic electrical fault finding and testing of the control system, we identified a faulty control module inside the control box as the cause of the failure.

The faulty module was replaced and the entire sauna was tested to ensure all functions were operating correctly. Following the repair, the system was successfully returned to full working order.

The sauna arrived on site on two large pallets as a fully boxed kit, and our team carried out the complete assembly, electrical installation and commissioning of the system.

Sunlighten Sauna Repair

We attended a Sunlighten sauna after the customer reported problems with the system operation.

Following full fault finding and testing, we identified a seized contactor within the control system. This fault caused the sauna to remain energised continuously, resulting in the heating system running at full power without proper control.

The faulty component was identified and isolated, and replacement parts have now been ordered. We will return to complete the repair and carry out final testing once the new parts arrive.

Accurate sauna diagnostics are essential to identify the root cause of faults and avoid unnecessary replacement of components.

This project featured a Harvia Cilindro PC70XE heater with a Harvia WX380 control panel, providing excellent heating performance and simple operation.

To create a premium finish, we installed a Harvia Safety Railing with integrated lighting around the heater together with under-bench LED lighting, giving the sauna a warm and inviting atmosphere.

HUUM Sauna Fault Finding

We attended an outdoor sauna fitted with a HUUM Core heater and HUUM UKU Glass controls after the customer reported problems with the system.

Following inspection and testing, we discovered overheating damage caused by stranded flexible cables being connected without ferrules. This resulted in poor terminal connections, heat build-up and damage to the heater connection block and heater cables.

Importantly, the fault was not with the HUUM heater or controls, but with the original installation.

This is a good reminder that sauna heaters are high-power appliances and should always be installed by qualified sauna electricians with experience in sauna electrical connections and sauna commissioning.

Small installation details can make a big difference to safety, reliability and the lifespan of the equipment.
