The Role:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Forklift Driver / Yard Foreman to join our team. This is a hands-on role combining forklift operation, stock management, yard supervision, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate a counterbalance forklift to load and unload vehicles.
Organise and maintain timber stock within the yard.
Supervise daily yard operations and assist in managing yard staff.
Pick and prepare customer orders accurately.
Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed.
Conduct routine vehicle and equipment checks.
Assist customers and delivery drivers professionally.
Maintain a clean, tidy, and efficient working yard.
Requirements:
Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential).
Previous experience within a timber merchant, builders' merchant, or similar environment desirable, however not essential.
Strong knowledge of timber products also desirable, however not essential.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Ability to lead by example and motivate others.
Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
Reliable, hardworking, and customer-focused.
