🌿 Planning Permission Approved – Dirleton

A fantastic result at today’s East Lothian Planning Committee
Delighted to share that our proposal for a new family home on the former market‑garden site in Dirleton has been approved by 11 votes to 0, overturning the officer recommendation.

Our client has tried with other Architects unsuccessfully multiple times since 1988 and understandably delighted King Architects managed to unlock its potential.

A huge thank you to the councillors who took the time to visit the site, review the design in detail, and judge the application on its own merits and Tony Tomas for his delivery and Planning Consultancy. The Committee recognised what we’ve always believed:

• the site sits within the settlement boundary
• the new home is modest, traditional and conservation‑appropriate
• the design responds directly to Dirleton’s character and vernacular
• the landscape plan restores the site’s market‑garden heritage
• and the development will enhance, not harm, the Conservation Area

This has been a long journey for our client, and we’re thrilled to help unlock the potential of a site that has sat unused for decades.

The first week into the New Year and it's back with a bang! 2 completions through and approved, 2 Building Warrant Applications approved, new enquiries and developments logged into the system, a couple of site starts. Its not even Friday!??
