đż Planning Permission Approved â Dirleton
A fantastic result at todayâs East Lothian Planning Committee
Delighted to share that our proposal for a new family home on the former marketâgarden site in Dirleton has been approved by 11 votes to 0, overturning the officer recommendation.
Our client has tried with other Architects unsuccessfully multiple times since 1988 and understandably delighted King Architects managed to unlock its potential.
A huge thank you to the councillors who took the time to visit the site, review the design in detail, and judge the application on its own merits and Tony Tomas for his delivery and Planning Consultancy. The Committee recognised what weâve always believed:
⢠the site sits within the settlement boundary
⢠the new home is modest, traditional and conservationâappropriate
⢠the design responds directly to Dirletonâs character and vernacular
⢠the landscape plan restores the siteâs marketâgarden heritage
⢠and the development will enhance, not harm, the Conservation Area
This has been a long journey for our client, and weâre thrilled to help unlock the potential of a site that has sat unused for decades.
If youâre interested in the project, the site, or being introduced to the client as the design progresses, feel free to get in touch.
A great day for thoughtful, sustainable design in East Lothian.
