A traditional Cornish double-sided hedge completed over in St Minver for some lovely customers.

Built using a blend of locally quarried slate from two separate quarries to showcase the natural variation in colour we get around Cornwall. ⛏️

Gateway entrance completed using locally sourced cut stone from

Granite copings and brick pillars for the electric gates will be added to complete the entrance, but I thought this was a good opportunity to take photos of the stonework. A lovely bit of stone to work with. ⛏️

A project completed earlier this year using locally sourced Cornish slate from Callycombe Aggregates Ltd, creating a welcoming entrance that blends naturally with the surrounding landscape.

One question I’m often asked is about the bright oxidised reds and oranges within the stone. Over time, these weather naturally and mellow into softer brown tones, allowing the wall to blend even more with its surroundings.

Photos from start to finish of a tiered stone hedge job recently completed behind this lovely old cob cottage in Portloe, built using the original stone from the site with a bit of new stone where required.

An interesting job logistically, but one that came together nicely in the end. ⛏️
