Been a while since I posted anything on here!

Here's a recent project, turning a basic desk into a console for a ship simulator setup at a Sea Cadets Unit I support.

Hopefully the Cadets get many hours of training and enjoyment out of it!

Helping out Loughborough Sea Cadets.
From materials available, plus a few sundries from my Workshop - a new lockable, accessible electric meter cowling to replace their old timber cowl.

Still a bit cold to be out in the workshop but finally got around to solving a little problem I've been meaning to sort for ages....

I'm getting back into live music a bit more and trying to make my open-mic rig more compact and easy to set up for my woodwind kit.

But most open mic setups aren't going to be easily adapted to setting up a Clarinet quickly and effectively, so I use a special pickup mounted in the instrument, but this needs power and I find I need local monitoring if I'm playing alongside louder instruments. This has meant all sorts of cables and kit, which gets a bit much to set up for 3 or 4 songs.

So, it's time to reintroduce my old Trace Acoustic Amp to live use again (which provides the necessary phantom power for the pickup and a beautifully rich tone, a range of reverbs and plenty of poke for stage monitoring and front of house sound).

So now, all I need is one power point and I'm ready to roll!

But then I also need to take my instrument stand which is in two sections and doesn't all fit into my Clarinet box...hmmm.

So today I made a simple prototype Clarinet stand adaptor fixed to the top of the amp, which doubles as a power cord tidy. Now I just have the amp and the instrument box to carry and everything is self contained and quick to set up!

Happy days!

Have been (slowly) making a matching boatman's stool based on one my Dad made years ago.
The green one fits in a storage space on narrowboat "Button"( Button Boating ) and the new one will do the same.
These are really handy as extra side tables or seats on the bank!

Finally got round to making a folding privacy screen for the girls' bedroom.

Been a busy time preparing Button Boating so I haven't posted much on here.
Only just got the Workshop back into a usable state for woodworking after various boat related stuff going on in here.
Nice to run up a few items again, this is a bespoke wide base stand for a mini Christmas tree for my folks on their narrowboat.
