Across our sites and head office in Loughborough, our teams are getting involved by donating and showing their support wearing charity pins and wristbands as their purple item.

At CR Civil Engineering, we recognise that working in construction means our workforce face high risk situations every day.

This Men’s Health Week, we’re proud to stand behind our workforce by encouraging open conversations and supporting one another both on and off site. Talking about mental health isn’t always easy, but it’s vital and no one should feel like they have to face challenges alone.

We’re also proud sponsors of the Lighthouse Charity, who do incredible work providing support and resources to those in the construction industry when they need it most.

🎈Farewell Catherine

Last week we said a fond farewell to Catherine Canning as she begins her well-earned retirement after almost 10 years with CR Civil Engineering.

Catherine has played a pivotal role in the growth and development of our training function, supporting colleagues across the business with dedication, professionalism and unwavering commitment. THANK YOU for everything you've contributed over the years. We wish you a long, happy retirement filled with plenty of travelling, dancing and new adventures.

🌱 Supporting Our Local Community at Brancote

As part of our ongoing social value commitment, our Brancote site team were proud to step in and support a local primary school following a request from the MWH Treatment Senior Site Manager.

We were delighted to work with St Andrew’s Primary School in Weston, delivering a range of improvement works to help enhance their outdoor learning environment, all provided free of charge, including plant, materials, and labour.

The works included relocating an existing seating area and constructing a new base for a greenhouse, creating a more practical and engaging space for pupils and staff. A key highlight was the refurbishment of the school pond, where our team carefully drained the area, removed the existing liner, and installed a new one to improve its long-term durability, all while maintaining strict environmental and safety standards.

Throughout the project, our team ensured all works were carried out safely and responsibly, with minimal disruption to the school’s day-to-day activities.

Projects like this reflect what CR Civil Engineering is all about, delivering quality work while making a positive difference in the communities we operate in. A big THANK YOU to the site team and ian foster for taking the time to oversee this amazing project

📍Malvern, Sewage Treatment Works

We’re proud to have supported the delivery of these essential civil engineering works, a project delivered by Hollywood Civils, who now became part of CR Civil Engineering towards the latter stages of the scheme, to support the upgrade of ferric chemical delivery and increased capacity to the Sludge Holding Tanks (S*T).

The scope included the supply and installation of a new chemical delivery bund and access road, alongside associated civil engineering and pipework works. This comprised ducting, hardstanding construction, kerbing, trimming, and tarmac surfacing, together with all minor ancillary works required to complete the scheme safely and efficiently.

This project is a great example of the technical competence, adaptability, and problem-solving capabilities demonstrated on site, led by Project Manager Shaun Gilbert. Strong client engagement, proactive planning, and a focus on collaboration ensured risks were identified early and mitigated effectively.

A particular thank you goes to Site Manager Rob, whose leadership and commitment played a key role in maintaining programme continuity and supporting the smooth, successful delivery of the works.

CR Civil Engineering, part of the RSK Group, is looking for 3 new Apprentice Groundworkers to join our growing teams across Llandeilo, Loughborough, and Rotherham.

This is a fantastic opportunity to start a hands-on career in construction, working on highways, roads, and infrastructure projects while learning from experienced professionals. You’ll gain practical skills in areas such as drainage, kerbing, paving, and general groundworks, all within a supportive learning environment.

As part of the role, you’ll work towards a Level 2 Apprenticeship, combining on-site experience with college learning to build a strong foundation for your future career.
