Chelsea Flower Show shut down - just stepping outside of the show venue with a view that many don’t get to see. 18 months of hard work & within 2 weeks this whole area will be green lawns again!

Whilst we didn’t show this year - Designing & Building are enough in themselves to create months worth of detailed planning & organising but the logistics at the end are equally as important - whilst some of the plants will have been sold off in the huge pavilion, the remainder will go back to the nurseries.

As for the show gardens these will be carefully dismantled & will go to a new home - one where they can be appreciated by their new owners for years to come. This wasn’t always the case in years gone by but with recycling & renewables being at the top of everyone’s list the & all its other shows lead the way in promoting sustainability within our industry. coming next!!

Brand new house requesting a brand new design!! Nestled in the heart of the Shropshire Hills - a light touch with practical elements regarding drive & access around the house.
Steel retaining walls to the rear & side aspect will create an efficient space saving solution alongside future proofing for 10’s of years to come.
Natural sandstone paving & gravel for low maintenance as no lawn has been requested. Planting to come right up to the house with a mix of evergreen shrubs, perennials & ornamental grasses.
The existing orchard on the higher ground to the rear will be left in parts to Mother Nature allowing insects to pollinate throughout the year.
A small self contained water feature in view from the outside aswell as inside.
With timber seating both front & rear for family use alongside outside lighting to compliment the house. watch this space…

10 Years on….. & it’s open garden day!! It’s not until you go back do you get the real picture that was in your designers eye all those years ago - such a privilege to revisit - same clients but not a building site anymore - here’s to the next 10 years…

A simple garden design tip but maximum impact…Less is always more — especially in open spaces.

Simplicity creates strength, structure, and timeless elegance.

For this driveway design, the circular feature firmly anchors an otherwise irregular space, bringing balance, order, and flow to the layout. The further step detail echoes and accentuates the circle, reinforcing the geometry in the same carefully chosen materials.

The Bredon gravel was selected alongside natural sandstone paving and cobbles because they marry beautifully with the existing stonework of the house, creating a seamless and sympathetic palette throughout.

Strong design doesn’t need to shout — when materials, form, and space work together naturally, the result speaks for itself.
