✨Sale Report - The Portcullis Auction Room: 18th June 2026 ✨

McCartneys Portcullis Auction Room report another excellent sale on the 18th June. There was considerable pre-sale interest and enthusiastic bidding from the internet platforms and in the room.

There were 535 lots of antiques and art offered, all privately entered or from local house clearances, comprising furniture; oil and watercolour paintings; silver; a single owner collection of fine jewellery; ceramics and glass; antique textiles; ephemera and books; rugs and carpets and works of art.

Similar lots are invited for our forthcoming sale to be held on 16th July. Please contact the office on 01584 878822 for valuations and advice on consigning.

✨ Sale Report - The Portcullis Auction Room - 14th May 2026 ✨

McCartneys Portcullis Auction Room report another excellent sale on the 14th May. There was considerable pre-sale interest and enthusiastic bidding from the internet platforms and in the room.

There were 535 lots of antiques and art offered, all privately entered or from local house clearances, comprising the usual eclectic mix of oak, mahogany and pine English and Continental furniture dating from c.1700-1900; oil and watercolour paintings; fine silver; jewellery; ceramics and glass; antique textiles; ephemera; rugs and carpets and works of art.

Similar lots are invited for entry onto the forthcoming sale on 18th June. Consignment and valuation days will be held on the following days:

McCartneys Portcullis Auction Room report an excellent sale on the 16th April. There was considerable pre-sale interest and spirited bidding from the internet platforms and in the room.

There were in excess of 470 lots of antiques and art offered, all privately entered or from local house clearances, one of which was an extensive single owner collection of ceramics which included Royal Worcester; Royal Doulton; Beswick and other factories.

Similar lots are invited for entry onto the forthcoming sale on 14th May. Consignment and valuation days will be held on the following days:
