Haven’t felt like posting much lately, but here’s a recently completed garden transformation carried out in collaboration with Robert Barker Design

The existing garden was completely cleared and reworked to create a cleaner, more balanced and usable outdoor space.

Works included:

• Full garden clearance
• Retaining walls and new steps
• Garden levelling and reshaping
• Lawn edging
• New quality turf
• Soil preparation and planting throughout

Amazing what proper groundwork and a well thought planting scheme can do to a space. Can’t wait to see this one fill out and come into full bloom over the summer.

Let’s talk porcelain. Thinking of upgrading your garden? Read below 👇

Porcelain paving is not just about how a patio looks on day one, it is about how it performs for decades.

We recommend porcelain because it offers exceptional durability, low water absorption, slip resistance, and a clean, contemporary finish that elevates any outdoor space.

When installed correctly, it outperforms many traditional materials in both longevity and maintenance.

That said, porcelain only performs as well as the installation behind it.

A long-lasting patio depends on proper ground preparation, correct drainage, full-bed adhesive fixing, and precision jointing — details that are often invisible, but absolutely critical to the result.

Looking back on 2025, we’re grateful.
It was a strong year for us, with exciting projects and many happy clients who invested wisely in their outdoor spaces.

Unfortunately, it was also a year where we saw a significant number of homeowners come to us after previous contractors’ work had gone wrong — often just months after completion.
Failing porcelain patios due to inadequate sub-bases, paving laid directly on soil, artificial lawns installed over existing grass, raised beds collapsing after heavy rain, fences failing in strong winds... all avoidable issues when correct methods and professional standards are followed.

In several cases, we declined paid site visits because the cost to rectify poor workmanship (£20k–£30k+) would have caused further financial distress. Where possible, we instead guided homeowners toward appropriate professional advice and specialist solutions to help them move forward responsibly.
This isn’t shared to criticise — but to encourage homeowners to carry out proper due diligence, ask the right questions, and choose professionals based on competence, not just price.

A well-built garden should last decades, not months.
