An extensive retrofit project is now well underway in Malvern, transforming a much-loved home into a more comfortable, efficient, and future-ready space.

Our clients were deeply attached to their property and its character, but like many homes, it no longer fully supported modern living. Rather than relocating, they chose to invest in improving what they already had by enhancing comfort, reducing energy use, and creating a healthier indoor environment.

This project focuses on the thoughtful integration of low-energy products and sustainable building practices. From improved insulation and airtightness to triple glazing, air source heating and mechanical ventilation, every intervention is designed to reduce heat loss, lower energy demand, and create a consistent, comfortable internal climate year-round.

By taking a fabric-first approach, we’re ensuring that the building performs as efficiently as possible. The result will be a home that not only feels better to live in day-to-day but also has a significantly reduced environmental impact.

It’s a great example of how retrofit can breathe new life into existing homes—preserving what people love while adapting them for the future.

Built with precision and care, this project showcases what’s possible when sustainable design meets exceptional craftsmanship. From the high-performance timber frame structure to the integration of renewable energy systems, every detail was considered to deliver outstanding energy efficiency, comfort, and long-term value.

Passivhaus Plus not only reflects ultra-low energy demand, but also a commitment to generating clean energy on-site — a true step forward in responsible building.

A huge milestone achieved on our latest Passivhaus project!

We’re proud to share that the building achieved an outstanding 0.17 ACH on its final air pressure test - significantly exceeding the Passivhaus requirement of 0.6 ACH.

This result reflects the incredible attention to detail from everyone involved, from early design decisions right through to on-site ex*****on. The product of careful coordination, high-quality workmanship, and a team fully committed to performance.

Not only does this mean exceptional energy efficiency, but it also delivers improved comfort, durability, and long-term performance for our clients.

Admiring the angles and curves of the recently completed master en-suite of our Malvern Hills project designed with the clients by No. 54 Interiors and installed by Worcester Renewable Energy Ltd.

Our carpentry team had great fun creating the curved walls which have been finished with a stunning microcement texture.
