What a job.
We just finished rebuilding the jetty at Walhampton School and it barely felt like work.

Mornings started with herons stalking the shallows, swallows skimming the water, and dragonflies everywhere. Carp and tench rolling under the surface, bees loaded with pollen from the water lilies, horses in the fields, and the odd fisherman quietly enjoying the peace.
A few days out in a place like that and you remember why you do this.
Beautiful site, great project, and a jetty that’s ready for the kids and there canoes.

🐍 Saved a little “Don’t Tread on Me” today!
Found this cutie living inside a rotten old gate post. Carefully moved him to a much safer spot away from the work area.
I’m used to rescuing bees, but this one was a bit different! Still happy to give him a helping hand and let him live his best snake life somewhere safer.
Always better to relocate than harm. Nature’s creatures all deserve a chance 👍

Back in the day we built this stunning raised deck for a beautiful period property. Fast forward 15 years… we’ve just carried out some maintenance work – replacing a few rotted timbers and uprights plus the main deck boards.
The fact that after a decade and a half only a handful of pieces needed replacing says everything about how we build.
