We are locally renowned for our landscape and building expertise, our company is based on the belief that our customers needs are of the utmost importance. It’s amazing that this was almost 12 months ago now!

I’m still so proud of my project The Arches. Looking back at the finished result is incredibly sentimental to me and I’m grateful to everyone who played a part in bringing it to life.

We’re still pinching ourselves from last year and it definitely had a huge impact on me as an individual and a landscape designer.

With two new projects now recently shortlisted for 2026, I’m excited for what’s ahead for JDS Landscapes! But first, I thought we’d revisit this one πŸ’š

It’s been a year since we completed this beautiful garden project in Cheshire.

We recently revisited the garden to see how it has settled and matured over time, and we’re delighted with the results. The planting has established beautifully, and both the clients and our team are incredibly pleased with how the space has evolved.

This garden was carefully designed to be low maintenance while still offering a unique and immersive feel β€” far removed from the look of an ordinary garden.

As you move through the images, you can clearly see how the planting has begun to establish itself, softening the space and bringing greater depth and character to the design. With another month of growth, the garden will continue to flourish and transform once again.

Because you charge more doesn’t mean you’re the best. If they charge less it doesn’t make them the worst.

It’s alway down to the individual contractor. His pride, his passion, his skill sets, his relentless ambition to get better and better. His values and how he treats his customers. What he/she is content with earning all play a factor into the quotation you’ve received.

This is why it so important when looking for a contractor in an already saturated market. That you do as much research into company’s as you can.

Fancy portfolios on social media doesn’t mean the most expensive, equally the guy down the road that wants cash in hand doesn’t mean he’s the cheapest.

Remember don’t be put off by fancy portfolios they’re more competitive than you’d think. Always find a contractor who’s trusted highly reviewed or work you’ve actually seen.

1. Special Feature Under 50k - a flawless floating BBQ space, designed entirely by Jonathon and built by the JDS team.

The versatility behind Jonathon’s work is unbelievable. He doesn’t do repeat designs or similar-style projects - he always makes sure every design suits exactly what the client wants, and he’s amazing at coming up with completely different concepts. To have his work recognised again at national award level is so well deserved.

People see the finished gardens, but they don’t always see the long days, late nights, pressure and hard work Jonathon manages behind the scenes to get everything perfect. As Jonathon’s partner, I’ve seen first-hand how much effort he puts into his business 24/7, and he genuinely puts his clients and projects first every single time.

We’re proud to announce our most recently completed project at JDS Landscapes. πŸƒ

Our client wanted a traditional English garden, keeping in theme with their home. They were clear they wanted the finish to be clean but rustic, and wanted multiple different textures and layers throughout.

We structured the planting so that once established it will soften all the edges, giving the garden a more natural feel. And from the bottom to top of the garden, we used the challenging 2m height difference to our build advantage for the different layers our client wanted.

Just waiting for the electrician now to get this garden night-time friendly. πŸ’‘

We can’t wait to revisit this garden in 2028 once all the planting has been established, and see this lovely English garden in all its glory. πŸ’š

All in all, I think we hit the brief here and gave our client the RHS style garden they’d been looking for! What do you think? 😊
